Who wins the state championship? What will be the keys to victory for both teams? Any intangibles that could effect the outcome?

I'm going to say Louisville Central because I don't think Breathitt is athletic enough to stop them. After seeing the Central vs. Belfry game last season, I just don't think Breathitt can do it. But...

GO BOBCATS!!!

Central will key on fugate and games over 34-14 Central. Speed and schedules is the difference in the game.

I will be pulling for the Bobcats, but it is going to be a task beating Central.

It'd take a complete, flawless game. Breathitt could do it, but they'd have to get that defense off the field. Maybe Holcomb will finally realize that with Channing being the horse that "No Huddle" is NOT the best design for his offense to compete with the Yellow Jackets. But who knows? Ali wasn't supposed to beat Liston or Foreman. The Giants had no chance to beat the Patriots. Douglas KO's Tyson, the 1990 Reds sweep the A's and so on. That's why they play the game, right? Should be a most interesting game. Glad to see the Cats get some recognition. This was a tremendous gutty effort. Wasn't pretty, but got the job done. Go CATS!!!

I don't know if Breathitt has the speed for Central. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the D1 kids at Central play against Fuggate. He is an outstanding player!

Well, so many people keep saying Channing is too slow. That he's only a power runner. Yet he usually breaks a few big gains running the edges after pounding it between the tackles. He's just got football speed and a lot of heart. Watched him close 30 yards after realizing that an Estill Co. WR had gotten behind the defense. He not only disrupted the pass, but nearly made the interception. He did that later on that game (not as far) and hit the would be receiver and knocked the ball loose on a sure TD. Watching him "allow" the first defender to make contact then cut, spin, wiggle, or shift then accelerate into the secondary is a thing of beauty. Then he'll deliver a massive stiff arm or pick out a defender and lower his shoulder when it looks like his run is winding down. To think that he's only a junior is mind boggling! Yet sometimes it seems that the larger metropolitan areas tend to chalk his success up to being in EKY. But the Belfry win AT Belfry, while not the big offensive contest everyone was expecting, raised some eyebrows. The cats have some speed players as well. Maybe not as many, but Fletcher, Pritchard, Epperson, Allen, the Huff brothers, etc.. Names "media" types don't see in the frenzy of seeing Fugate put up monster numbers week after week. Yes, I'm a cat fan, but stranger things have happened. So let's enjoy the buildup and hope for a fantastic finish.

Where is the game at? Is it at the new or old feild

I'll take Breathett to knock off the Louisville team

Louisville will get a double dose of the Bobcats in the finals next week. How sweet it would be for us mountain boys to bring two state titles back to our perspective Bobcat dens.

I agree trenches, two BCHS' will be comming back to the mountains with some new hardware. Fugate is just to much to stop, on both sides of the ball.

Wow!!! Breathitt beats Belfry so they automatically beat Central???!!

Central would be more uncomfortable with the "old" Breathitt teams that threw it all over the lot. If Central has a glaring weakness, it is the pass defense.

Central's run defense is just smothering. Can't run over them - they are too physical, can't run by them - too fast. To think Fugate will come in and shread Central's defense is foolish. But if Breathitt does a good job mixing the run/pass/play action they can be successful against that defense.

Union had a decent 1st half vs. Central last night, then just got throttled in the 2nd.

Central does occasionally have periods where they make mistakes, but also can score from anywhere/anytime on the field.

Central's 3 losses were to Manual, St. X and Highlands (they also lost to Western, but later was awarded a forfeited win), pretty tough company.

Breathitt didn't get to this point on luck, but IMO Central is just too athletic and explosive and will win 33-21.

I do think this game and the 2-A game will be the best match-ups of the weekend.

Should be a great matchup I am pulling for the Bobcats hope they can pull it off. Good luck would be nice to bring home Mtn trophies is A, AAA, AAAA:thumb:
