True. And it didn't help the Tigers that they had 4 or 5 guys foul out, including Eric Sawyer with less than a minute gone in the 2nd half.

Romes played well for Beechwood, but if he had made 50% of the freethrows he missed last night, Beechwood would have had about a 7 or 8 point lead late in the game. Missed freethrows are killers.

Wow. Everyone assumed Holmes would breeze into the regional tourney. Now their first round district game against Beechwood is looking tougher and tougher.

Name 1 school district that turns away money because they have too much. Just 1.

Schools and school sysytems do not exist to field winning sports programs. They exist to academically and socially mature and educate students. Any amount of extra money to go into the hopper to do that is greatly needed and shouldn't be passed up. To do so is just foolish. The 2 schools can make it work. Holmes and Holy Cross have managed in for a while now. So have Newport and NewCath.

I believe Walton-Verona is an Independent school district. Although in Boone County, they are not part of the Boone County Schools, so the Bearcats can draw players from a larger area than their County counterparts.

NewCath's best ball is still ahead of them. Beuter, Gesenhues, and Kiernan are just now really getting their basketball legs underthem, so NewCath's record entering district and regional play will be deceiving. They will be a team to be to watchout for come the regionals.

Holmes has also struggled for the most part since Englemon left. So Jefferson doesn't get the football publicity because they aren't in marquise games like they used to be.

The upfront cost that the KHSAA asks for the rights to televise the games live goes up every year. Fact is, I think the KHSAA is afraid that live television will eventually hurt their gate, so they make it cost prohibative to have the state finals on Live television.

I like Tom. He's a hilarious guy who doesn't take things too seriously. I'm glad he'll still be around. I know he still has at least 1 kid at Conner, So I'd imagine he'll be there until she is done with High School.

The people most likely to get the job are already teaching there and were / are assistant coaches.

Believe it or not, there is a whole world, full of exciting things outside of KY. If you just muster up the bravery to visit them.
