  5. It's on 9/14 at 7:30 at Cincy St. X.
  6. What about that first August game? Lots of substitutions? Deep teams will obviously have an advantage.
  7. Bummer. How's the arm? Healing fine? No complications?
  8. Sounds like a typical Type II fracture. It's common and they generally heal well. I don't think you should have any worries. However, listen to your doctor before you listen to me.
  9. Make sure he keeps himself in shape. It's easy to get an injury to one part and give your whole body a rest.
  10. For some of you posting in this thread: Play nice or you'll be sitting the bench.
  11. CSHS81 is certainly a fount of knowlege, but if we don't question everything he says, he's going to start making up stuff.
  12. Now that I think about it, officials do talk a bit like Yoda. Offsides was #76. 5 yard penalty and first down we will repeat.
  13. What's the oldest of the bowl games? We played in the Recreation Bowl in the early '70s. I don't know how long that bowl game or any others have been going on.

  16. I'm confused on the glove color rule. Is it: 1)Gloves must be grey. 2)Gloves may be any color but the color of the football and penalty flags.
  17. After being turned down by Lexington Catholic, MTV finally landed in Etown, where basketball coach James Haire and the school agreed to allow the network’s cameras chronicle their season. In return, the Panthers would receive $20,000 and apparel from some of the show’s sponsors. MTV has stopped production at the school. The official word from the network is it doesn’t have enough footage to complete the show, because MTV got involved with Etown after the season had begun. Sources tell TV Timeout that MTV couldn’t get several of Etown’s opponents to consent to MTV shooting footage of their games. I’m told the network discounted the number of games involved in a basketball season and underestimated the amount of time and paperwork it would involve with each game. http://wkyt.mis.net/sportsblog/?p=159
  18. Yeah, I just had that happen to me last year on an interference call on a 4th down play for a TD. Guess I hadn't looked at the rules for a while.
  19. A big focus is helmet contact this year. 2-20, 9-4-3i, 9-4-3; Note New: Helmet Contact -- Illegal: is an act of initiating contact with the helmet against an opponent. Three revisions dealing with illegal helmet contact are an attempt by the rules committee to reorganize the existing rules and definitions by bringing them under one heading. 8-2-2: When there is a foul by the opponent of the team scoring a touchdown, an enforcement option has been added. The offended team can accept the result of the play; choose to have the penalty enforced on the try; or choose to have the penalty enforcement on the free kick. Other rule changes
  20. I guess I'm the only imperfect (or honest) one.
  21. I probably have when they've done something boneheaded on the field or called a really stupid play.
  22. Why would giving the tickets away be dishonest? If he can't use the tickets, then he should hand them back to the AD, who I assume is there to see the game.
  23. I disagree. The coach has no right to profit from selling these tickets. In fact, if he didn't need them, he could have let a student from his school buy them.
