  1. Dixie led through 3, but Ryle turned it on in the 4th. They got more aggressive on the defensive end, and Dixie couldn’t stop their transition offense.
  2. Here is a link to the schedules. https://nkmsaa.org/basketball
  3. Kellie has been on the staff for 3 years now, I think. Her freshmen teams have been successful over those 3 years. The girls and parents absolutely love her, and that goes a long way. You're going to see a change in culture and style of play. As long as they continue to have the talent in the system, they will become a realistic threat to NDA and Highlands now. This is a good hire for Dixie, and I wish Kellie the best in her new role.
  4. I bounced around the video as I don't have 45 minutes right now to listen to the entire thing. He was asked about following Fickell, and he said you have to remember they'll be playing in the Big 12 next year. He had another response where he said they'll be playing in the Big 12 next year. It had a feel of a built in excuse. Again, didn't listen to the entire thing so he may have talked more about the move to the Big 12 and explained things better.
  5. I listened to a little bit of his press conference. I have a feeling he's going to use the move to the Big 12 as an excuse for not winning for a while. As a UC fan, I just don't have a good feeling about this hire. I would have much rather seen Gino get an opportunity.
  6. For those heading to the game from NKY, give yourself extra time. I just heard on the radio that 75 southbound will have a section down to 1 lane today. I believe it was around the Williamstown area.
  7. Just saw a replay of the Alexander return. Horrible call!
  8. I expected to see Sebastian run the ball a lot more than he did as I expected Brossart to run the same offense he did at Dixie when they went to the finals. The kid is explosive and will be fun to watch the next 2 years. I felt bad for the Alexander kid from BW tonight. For the big man to get a pick and run it all the way back, only to have it called back on a very questionable call. You always love to see the big guys score like that.
  9. Block on the QB right in front of us. I don’t know if they called it a blindside block or what, but thought it was clean.
  10. The Boone County programs seem to do this morning than the others in NKY. You may see 1 team here and there from other organizations at these events, but the Boone programs generally send multiple. I believe there is another event this coming weekend down in Kentucky, but not sure if any of the NKY teams are going down.
  11. I know of a 3rd grade team that will have played over 20 games this season when it’s all said and done.
  12. This wasn’t a Trinity team of the past, but still a solid squad. Team speed was the difference in this game. Trinity beat them to the edges all night. Trinity’s kicker is GOOD.
  13. These weekend tournaments are a joke. The NKYFL has 2 preseason games, 8 game regular season, and up to 3 playoff games. That’s for 8 through 11 year olds. The 6 and 7 year olds have same preseason and regular season. There are a few in season tournaments. The River City Classic is played during the season and you play 1 night during the week for up to 3 or 4 weeks. Boone and Kenton do starter bowls the last weekend of the season, and they don’t spread it out. All Kenton teams play in the Kenton bowl, and some also do the Boone. I coached a starter team (6 and 7) last year and we played 6 games in 10 days at the end of the season. It was absolutely stupid. There is absolutely no reason to play that many games, especially with a small number. I gave parents the option to opt out of any of the games they wanted. I had all my kids (under weight limit) in the backfield running the ball to essentially spread out the contact, and my qb was instructed to run out of bounds or take a knee on a broken play as my other qb was out of town. I just wanted my kids to come out of that stretch healthy. I know some of these teams are playing every Saturday and Sunday, sometime 2 games each day. They’re playing teams across the river to get extra games in. These coaches don’t care about their players at all. All they care about is their record. It’s pathetic.
  14. I only have 1 drawer that drives me nuts if it's not closed, and that's the drawer that houses our garbage cans in the kitchen. Easy access for the pup when it's open, and no-one closes it fully. I feel like I close it 10 times a day at minimum. Now, if we want to talk doors being open, I live in a house full of heathens that leave it open when doing their business.
  15. I'm not defending the MSU players by any means. It's just everything I've seen and read are painting this innocent MU players being attacked in the tunnel on his way to the locker room, which in the end of it all, may actually be true. I would just like to know the full story instead of half the story.
  16. Of the videos I’ve seen, I haven’t seen one that leads up to the event. What did the Michigan player do (if anything) to lead up to this?
  17. Looks like having a kicker was the difference.
  18. My understanding from the beginning of the season, he didn't get a full staff in and was unwilling to just take any coach to fulfill his staff. He wanted to make sure they fit his philosophy as he didn't want any tension in his staff from day one. I credit him for that. With a full offseason, he should be able to fill his staff. Also, for the first time in years, they should finally be able to field a true freshman team, because the numbers are there at TF. It will be interesting to see how the offseason takes shape.
  19. Beechwood is no longer hosting the championships. Not sure why as it's been scheduled for there since the beginning of the season. Now instead of a neutral field, the top seeds are hosting the games. 7th grade championship now being played at CovCath Wednesday at 7:00 CovCath vs Campbell County 8th grade championship (large school) now being played at Highlands Saturday at 7:00 Highlands vs Turkey Foot 8th grade championship (small school), not sure on the location or date.
  20. Brach. When he plays QB, it leaves a huge whole in the defense. Dixie is just undersized at every position, except for Brach. Without the beef up front, it doesn’t matter what type of offense or defense you run.
  21. I had mice chew into my wiring earlier this year after leaving it parked in the driveway for a few days while driving my daughters car. That was an expense I wasn't expecting. I've heard this is an even bigger problem with newer cars as they're using a soy based material in the wire coverings.
  22. And that 2020 team was talented enough to win it that year. They were just never allowed to play soccer.
  23. There's a reason Dixie hasn't won a region, and it isn't due to the lack of talent over the years. Their style of play can pile on the goals against lesser quality teams. They will not beat the top tier teams with their long ball and physical play mentality. It just doesn't work against quality opponents.
  24. They actually play tonight at CovCath.
  25. I think the 7th grade NKMSAA playoff seedings are: 1. CovCath 2. Campbell County 3. Turkeyfoot 4. Highlands
