With the regular season starting for some this week and a few preseason events down, who are the favorites in each grade?  Players that stand out?

Pius and Campbell Co in 7th.  Beechwood won 6th last year, but looks like they have moved kids up all throughout the program due to lack of numbers at certain grades.

Amazing 8th grade game last night between 8th Grade St Pius and Highlands.  56-50 win for the 8th grade Birds.  Lots of talent on the floor on both sides.  These two teams have to be the favorites.

Anybody know current standings for 6th, 7th and 8th boys basketball?

These are the division leaders in 6th right now. I believe I am correct on the 7th and 8th but might have to double check.

From a 7th grade boys standpoint, Pius and Campbell are the top 2 teams without question. Grey is right there at 3rd, and then it’s a big drop to the rest of the teams.

I believe 8th will come down to Pius and Highlands.  Those 2 are clearly the top 2 teams.

I really hope they are very selective on officials for the post-season tournament. I know officials are thin, but this has been the worst season by far. The lack of effort, the lack of knowledge, and the lack of consistency has been horrible. I’ve never seen so many officials get in the way of play before. One official will put the ball in play off of timeouts before everyone is out on the floor leading to either 5 second calls or easy layups. I’ve seen coaches T’d up for simply asking a question or while talking to their team. It’s been bad and just kills the flow of games.

Last round of games Tuesday, bracket should come out Wednesday or Thursday.
