This year's offense definitely isn't gimmicky. They get to the line quickly and then wait for the play. Sometimes it takes way too long for that play to get in as it doesn't match the formation they're in. Sometimes it makes you wish for last year's offense. LOL. When they run, they're going to run at you between the tackles. There's no motion, no reverses, no counters, no sweeps, just pound it right at you. The route running is very basic. Mwamba or Beach are going to run go or post routes. Everyone else is going to run short to intermediate routes. Defensively, they're going to sell out 95% of the time leaving their DBs in 1-on-1 coverage. They have two solid high school corners in Mwamba and Beach that they're willing to take their chances with. Brzygot is the 3rd corner that is young but has improved as the season has gone along. As for the QB, Gregg is a solid high school QB. IMO, his biggest issue this year seems to be his confidence passing the ball. It's almost as though he's scared to over throw his receivers. He has the arm for that not to occur 90% of the time. I don't know if that is the pressure coaches are putting on him or just something he's putting on himself. He needs to just cut it loose and let it fly.

Those were part of the next phase as they were never scheduled to be done for this season based on a conversation I had with someone from Newport a month ago.

Dixie’s o-line is getting abused

Turf looks great from a distance but I t’s different than any other turf around. It’s not as “full” as the other turfs as you can see the rows of turf when standing on the sidelines. It also has a more plastic look like earlier turfs. This may be due to the location and potential for flooding.

The ND play calling, especially in the first half was horrendous. They’re trying to get cute with their shiny new toy at QB. They don’t have the stud receivers. Use the run game with your stud backs to setup the pass. Quit using the pass to setup the run. Kudos to UL on the W. I think their overall team speed was the difference in the game.

Do schools use radar apps, or do they only go by site and sound? I had a "discussion" with an official earlier this year at a youth game. His comment was if he doesn't see or hear it, they're playing. Where we were , you don't have a true 360 degree view of the area, so I use a few weather apps. All were showing a lightening strike 2 miles away. I refused to let the kids take the field and forced them to wait it out. To me, the lack of caution people take when lightening is in the area is absurd. When lightening strikes, it doesn't mean it's time to huddle everyone up and have a long talk. It's time to get the heck off the field and to a safer area. It's time to get out of the metal stands and to a safer area. I guess I have a tendency to take more precautions after having a very close call at a baseball complex a few years back with my team and knowing someone who had a friend/relative struck and killed a couple years ago on a walk.
