Ludlow’s football field

Featured Replies

I went to Ludlow earlier today for a football game held there today that was hosted there to kick the NKYFL playoffs today, my daughters cheer.  I saw pictures of it on here before and online in other ways. After seeing it in person, I absolutely loved it! The red turf with the panther in the middle is awesome. Kudos to Ludlow for what you did with your football field, absolutely love it!

That's pretty sharpe!

I thought so too, not a field that different and nice looking around here in my opinion.

Turf looks great from a distance but I t’s different than any other turf around. It’s not as “full” as the other turfs as you can see the rows of turf when standing on the sidelines. It also has a more plastic look like earlier turfs. This may be due to the location and potential for flooding.

Is it sand based instead of rubber?

I’m sure that it is, especially with being as near the river as it is, which would make sense.

I wish baseball fields would go to the synthetic sand.  The rubber destroys baseballs, making them gray very quickly.  White pants also get grayed out when sliding.  The synthetic sand is a much better option IMO.

Thoughts:

1. Props for doing smoothing different. Not really my cup of tea, but I do appreciate the risk taking.

2. You will always know when you are flying over Ludlow.

3. Would like to see those trees cleared out a little to allow sightlines overlooking the Ohio River.

4. I like the way the home bleachers and press box look in the previous thread linked. Think that was a really solid way to modernize one of these old concrete Corps of Engineers style stadiums.

That red field looks horrendous.

Boooo this Man!!!!

@Breds82I’ll take all the Boo’s, looks too gaudy for my liking is all.

I’m not familiar with Ludlow and have no idea how good/bad of a program they have, but I am familiar with Warren East, and when they decided to get their blue turf it seemed to of have added an extra boost of effort from opponents. Teams come in and look to exert dominance for what they believe to be a wealthy, enriched program which unfortunately for Raiders fans and the community is not the case at all.
