Did they forget to watch first game film? Why did we hold Walker out against FC if we were not going to use him against Male?

Did not see them enough to give a grade, but really disappointed. I understand there were injuries, but the play calling against Male was questionable. Unfortunately he had to cut his teeth with this team. I would have preferred someone with head coaching experience at this level program.

Probably just a rumor. I have no idea.

Saw the state game. It was a classic. The audible was missed, and. In the 99 state game in OT, Glaser said no audibles in the huddle! Was it later determined that one of Clark's rbs was overage? It just seems like I heard that. Clark made a great run that year.

BJ has improved since his father quit. Maybe a pressure situation. 13 of 28 still does not get it done though.

With all due respect, the T people were lucky with fathers coaching over the years. frankly, I do not like it at the hs level. I think it need to be limited if at all. Too much at stake with other players and opportunities.

First, congrats to Male. Second, what happened to defense? Third, if you are going to throw, at some point you have to complete at least 50 percent of your passes. At best, we now finish third in the district. When does Walker get back.

Did the JVs play?

I don't think weather was a factor. Brooks and Bonnafen were outstanding. Strong arm. X self destructed at times. Stop a long pass and get a roughing, etc. Walker might have made a difference. Just don't think Nagle has a strong enough arm, and not very mobile. Still mad over not taking the hold penalty and giving T 4th and 3 that close to goal line. I think that coaching inexperience showed. Needed to put more pressure on the QB. T obviously had their targets in the X secondary.

Thanks for the report. Apparently, new coaches, new ideas. Did the big guy come out of JCPS or the CSAA? Was this the first game for both?

Nothing but total respect for the Ballard program. Hope they succeed. Just don't beat my Tigers in the playoffs!

I thought this was already a consensus decision, and included Ohio, Texas, Florida, and Pennsylvania

Forgot to add. One question I have never understood is the number of coaches, not just fb, who coach in hs, but never even played the game that they are coaching. Is it my imagination, or is the number fewer than I imagine?

Wolford and his staff are outstanding. There can be no question that they know football. The question i believe is can they relate that to high school kids. Preparation, schemes, even play calling , are well within the capabilities of this staff. The good news is that the staff has the players' attention, and the players are responding and buying into the new system. A new open offense, that is actually used, will give the players even more confidence. For the most part, we have had capable players, but maybe they weren't suited for our schemes. T , I believe, just had an incredible 3 year run with players as good as i have seen in Jefferson county, and schemes that fit those players. When we were winning in the 90s, the tables were simply reversed.

X has a similar program-Xavierian Scholars-which I believe is limited to the a score of 99%. Used to be 15 got $1000.00 each. It has probably changed. A few years back, 4 of those students who were starters on the FB team were also named National Merir Scholars. Several years ago I was at a meeting at X and we were told that Manual had more Catholic school kids enrolled than X did JCPS kids. That may also have changed. I believe that in several circumstances that Manual is a bigger competitor to X for students than T because of the tuition issue. Certainly T and X will get their share of students (I am not talking fb players here) due to parent/family alumni in any given year

I have nothing to support my opinion, but I think part of the problem is the beat down teams get at every level (Varsity, JV, Frosh) and a simmerring resentment that some JCPS schools have over the number of JCPS students who enroll at T.

I agree that you can't be a "dynasty" without winning a state championship. That would have to be at least a minimum requirement. What surprised me is the opponents record of X versus T and Highlands. The opponents of X actually won more and lost fewer than those of T and Highlands,especially T who purportedly plays the hardest schedule around. This isn't criricizing anyone, just surprising to me. The numbers really weren't that close.

Lloyd "Pappy" Redman, a longtime Coach and supporter of JCPS athletics, and the Father of Bob Redman, and Grandfather of Chris Redman, has passed away. His obit was in the CJ this a.m. Pappy was a fixture for years, and his succes obviously rubbed off on Bobby and Chris. My condolences to the family.
