Apparently a rift developed when Nagle's son was benched vs. Central and the elder Nagle failed to make a few practices the following week. Head Coach Will Wolford and Nagle apparently parted ways that week. The St. Xavier broadcast team alluded to the departure last evening during the Tigers loss to Male.

As an outsider looking in is the issue Nagle, Coach Wolford, or both?

Good. Too many coaches who had players on the team. If Coach Nagle couldn't separate his coaching duties from his fatherly duties then he needed to step away.

I understand this to be a true statement.

That's my understanding, didn't know what he coaches.

That's the problem with having Dad's coach their sons at this level. Fortunatley their are a few that I personally know who handle the responsibility great and should be models other father coaches should use to see how you coach and not play favorites.

I agree. I felt like this could develop into a problem for the Xaverians, even more so if the father coaches the position that the son plays and is responsible for naming the starter. I don't know if this was the case with the Nagles.....or with any of the coaches/fathers for that matter.

Funny he is playing more relaxed and had his best game of the year Friday must be a good thing!
