  1. Colerain - 38 Lakota East - 13 (East led 13-10 at half) Moeller - 14 Elder - 42 Moeller is terrible. They are good night to lose out and go 3-7. St. Xavier - 42 La Salle - 7 The Bombers called off the dogs. It was 28-0 after 1st quarter, 42-7 at half. Kings - 28 Milford - 42 Any Ohio requests, let me know. -CardinalsFan
  2. Do the kids still say hizzy?? :idunno: Anyway, I took in my 1st CovCath game in a long, long time. Way before any of the new construction had even started, I watched a hard fought game between CovCath and Highlands with the Bluebirds coming out on top. Some opening observations: -Can't wait to see the campus when the millions are finished being spent. It is going to be beautiful. -Beautiful gate entrance...kind of ruined by the folding table outside with ticket sellers. Couldn't throw a box office off to the left of the gate? -The brick facade is gorgeous! And the CovCath emblem in the concrete is very, very classy. -No garbage cans...anywhere. Had to walk halfway to Agnes to throw away a cup I brought into the stadium, by the way. I can only assume alcohol is allowed at the games given the fact no less than 4 adult volunteers looked right at my cup and didn't ask me to discard it before entering. -Walked in and almost immediately went deaf. The pre-game music is WAY TOO LOUD!!!! No wonder your neighbors hate you. -The lights were stunning! Never seen LED lights at a stadium. Their ability to light the field ONLY and not the surrounding neighborhoods is astounding. And they made zero noise. Very impressive. -Good size crowd with high enthusiasm. As for the game, really liked what I saw from CovCath. Was real impressed with the moxy Mayer showed. the earlier poster was absolutely correct, he was certainly off on his long toss tonight. He had one dropped pass, a beauty to #11 on a slant that would have been 6 easy. He also had #11 and #13 running down the field wide open on another sure 6 and they ran into each other trying to catch the ball. #13 got an education on the sideline after the play. Hopefully that doesn't happen again. He did overthrow two wide open receivers that again, got behind the secondary and would have easily put 6 on the board. SFDS had like 2 guys that could do anything, #1 and #6. They were overmatched both in talent and depth. CovCath had to have 20-30 more dudes on the sideline than SFDS. Good luck to the Colonels the rest of the way. They suffered many rough years, would love to see them have a shot at a title again. -CardinalsFan
  3. He acted like he crossed a finish line in a race, which it was...what's the big flippin' deal?? -CardinalsFan
  4. St. Edward is a top 25 team in the country and Elder is going to go 0-3 in the GCL. This outcome doesn't surprise me at all. -CardinalsFan
  5. As a team, Colerain has thrown 34 times with 4 TD's and 0 int's. So yeah....we chuck the rock around a bit. :ylsuper: I was under the impression that Scott Co. ran the option. Again, is there any video online anywhere that I can see to better understand what the Bluegrass Cardinals do? -CardinalsFan
  6. No...our offense was a dumpster fire in week 1. Actually, not much better now. LaSalle is just that tough defensively. PLUS, you run an option-oriented offense which LaSalle sees every year from Colerain. They are used to it. They are sound fundamentally and as I said, their LB's are the best collective group you will see all year. I would LOVE to be able to see this game on Friday. Unfortunately, I have other obligations which will keep me occupied. Will this game have any live coverage? -CardinalsFan PS: That bet is very real if you are willing to reciprocate. We have Cracker Barrel's here in NKY as well. I'll even say 35 points is a PUSH...but it won't be close to that.
  7. If Scott Cty. scores 35 points on LaSalle, I will buy you and your entire family dinner at your local Cracker Barrel. I love the enthusiasm, I do. But there is NO WAY Scott Cty. is scoring 35 points on the LaSalle Lancers. These are the 3-time defending D2 champions in OH and they collectively have the best group of LB's you will see ALL SEASON. I stick with my original prediction. 28-7, LaSalle. -CardinalsFan
  8. These two teams could play 5 games and Scott Co. won't score 49 points COMBINED. LaSalle's defense is the best I've seen in Ohio...right next to my Cardinals' defense. Look for LaSalle to win by 14-21 points. Thinking 28-7. -CardinalsFan
  9. Wait...let me see if I understand this correctly. Moeller is going to travel to KY on Friday to play a team called the "Cardinals" who depend on the "run" via the "Wing T" using "counters" and "option pitches"? I need to double-check my broadcast responsibilities....I thought I was headed to Middletown, OH on Friday...MAYBE NOT!! :lol2: I am now keenly interested in this game. Will there be any video during or after? -(Colerain)CardinalsFan
  10. They won't. They are Trinity. Notice I said fear. I seriously doubt Trinity fears anybody....ever. -CardinalsFan
  11. I have no doubt that Trinity will beat Moeller. Keep in mind that Moeller was 4-6 last year and 5-5 the year before. Trinity should never fear a team that is 9-11 over a two year period...I don't care whose name is on the jersey. -CardinalsFan
  12. The Moeller Crusaders released their 2017 schedule today and to say they have decided to put some miles on the buses early and INVADE THE BLUEGRASS would be an understatement!! Ohio Week 2 - @ Louisville Trinity, 9/1 @ 7:30 PM Ohio Week 3 - @ Scott County, 9/8 @ 7:00 PM If that wasn't enough, they open their home schedule with ANOTHER KY opponent!! Ohio Week 4 - vs. Lafayette, 9/15 @ 7:00 PM Holy Hillbillies Batman!! What has gotten into Mighty Moeller!? I guess missing the playoffs two years in a row has them searching south of the Ohio River for fat, juicy Harbin Cows to bolster their schedule. Any thoughts on those three teams next year? Obviously big names and good/great success recently. Is that going to continue? -CardinalsFan
  13. If the Tigers give up 31 to THIS Bomber team...good grief... Hoping for a Tiger upset. :ylsuper::popcorn: -CardinalsFan
  14. First off, no idea what schedule has to do with anything. They have played a really hard schedule...so what? Is that going to help them on Friday? No, it won't. The Bombers are a shell of what they normally are. They have lost 3 in a row and can't do much of anything right. The game being in Cincy will be an advantage as I'm sure it is Senior night. Defensively, the Bombers allow 337 yds/game: 126 on the ground, 211 in the air. Offensively, the Bombers are last in the GCL averaging 245 yds/game: 79 on the ground, 166 in the air. Here are their individual stats: 2016 St. Xavier Bombers This game has no impact on their playoff chances. By virtue of their ridiculously difficult schedule, they will make the playoffs. Win this game and it's possible they host a 1st round playoff game. Which may not seem like much to you Bluegrass folk but in the Buckeye state, it means an extra day of concession and parking fees. After week 1 of the playoffs, all games are played at a neutral site. Should be a good game. -CardinalsFan
  15. If this is the mentality, why even play the game? Seriously, why bother? Talk to your AD and say, "Stop the series!" Good grief. I thought St. Xavier of Louisville was an all boys school... -CardinalsFan
  16. Close but no cigar. Elder is in the playoffs, no doubt about that. Whether or not Scott wins can only possibly impact their seeding. -CardinalsFan
  17. I can offer some insight. What do the Tigers do well offensively? Defensively? -CardinalsFan
  18. 3 more pages and no one has answered this question. Hmmmm...... -CF
  19. John Alan Wright Dec. 4, 1963 - Oct. 10, 2016 Countless people give of their time with absolutely no ask for themselves. And throughout high schools all over the nation, people step up to help kids and those who love and care about them. At duPont Manual in Louisville, the Crimsons had one of those gentlemen in 2013 Hall of Famer John Wright. John was the founding member of OldGoatRadio.com. He, along with his son David, Buzz Frank and a team of others have been broadcasting Manual sporting events for years, bringing athletic events, interviews and information to the Manual fan and alumni base for years. His loss is a big one. Why would I post this? Why would some Colerain fan care one way or the other? How would he even know? Well, because John and his team had a significant impact on my life and the lives of several others in Colerain township. The Old Goats reached out to us at WeAreColerain.com in the summer of 2009 when they found out we would be playing against each other for the next two years. The first game was at Colerain and the Cards won, 42-0. However, the Old Goats could not have been more excited to make the trip to Cincy and take in all that Colerain has to offer. We went out to eat and just had a great night talking high school football. Needless to say, they returned the favor in 2010 when Colerain made the trip to Louisville. John and his team helped give us the confidence to launch into internet broadcasting of sporting events at Colerain. They showed us their set up and how easy it could be done. We haven't missed broadcasting a Colerain game since 2009, thanks in large part to John and his team of Old Goats at Manual. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and the Manual community for their loss. His legacy will endure forever in Crimson history. :sorry: -CardinalsFan
  20. The answer is obvious and yet, no one wants to say it. "The talent dried up." Child, please. Dale leaves and all of a sudden THIS happens? Come on, it's not that complicated. -CardinalsFan
  21. Next week, we find out as the Bombers and Lancers do battle. -CardinalsFan
  22. Congratulations to CovCath. Truly happy for you. Beating a team like Sycamore is a good resume builder for the season and will certainly give your boys some much needed experience. Oak Hills and Sycamore are now a combined 0-4 on the season. Comparing them to Lou. St. Xavier is a bit of an insult to the Tigers, IMO. -CardinalsFan
  23. Can someone tell me how this game is going to be played at night? Do they bring lights in? Was the last time this was done really 10 years ago? -CardinalsFan
