Wait a minute though. In this example, the batter while in the box is swinging at a pitched ball which as a batter he has a right to do whether it is a strike or not, lord knows I've seen many kids swing at balls out of the strike zone. If this was a called hit and run and the batter is leaning out over the plate or even reaching with one hand to hit the ball then it is interferance, but it's catcher interence and the batter is awarded first and the runner goes to second. Some batters swing at a bad pitch just to protect the runner which is what they are supposed to do in a hit and run. This keeps the catcher from getting out of the box to quick. This sounds like what may have happened here. But because there is judgement on the part of the umpire, it would be hard to call without seeing what happened.

I've looked and couldn't find them either. I think each Region kinda does there own thing. So I'm not sure those brackets are published anywhere.

Well, Pikeville beat Paintsville 7-1 to avenge an early season loss and win the game that matters more. Pikeville still has work to do to represent the 15th, but I would think they are the favorite. 16th Region starts Saturday.

I've noticed some of the All "A" Regional Baseball Tournaments have started up. Who are the favorites in each Region? Looks like the 15th is gonna be between Pikeville and Paintsville.

what kind of lifting are you talking about? I suggest once you start throwing, to reduce the upper body lifting to minimal if not delete it all together. The torque and strain that is already being placed on the shoulder and elbow is enough without adding weig lifting recovery. Upper body lifting in-season and lots of throwing is a receipe for injury, IMO. Now core work and leg work is a different story.

I totally agree that the Junior year is a cut point for a team unless they have a lot of seniors. Sure maybe the young man was on the team as a Freshman and Sophmore, because maybe the coach saw potential. High School boys grow at different times. Some high school boys don't work as hard as others. But if a kid hasn't worked hard or not developed like a coach had hoped and doesn't appear to be in the Varsity plans, should he take innings and at bats away from a young up and coming player. Keep in mind the JV program is a development tool for Varsity. Its not a local rec league.

6'7 Junior and 35 points a game should have his name being mentioned at some big schools already I would think.

Kyle Skaggs - Freshman from Russell is leading the Varsity in scoring. Has started Varsity since the 7th grade. He has to be on this list.
