Although I agree Russell is a run based offense and Jones threw 3 Ints Friday, However, He also threw for close to 1300 yards during the season with 14 TD's and only 4 Ints. The game against Belfry, All three of Russell's TD's were passes. So, maybe it's not totally a balanced attack, but their passing attack wasn't non-existent.

Congrats Mercer County. Great job Devils. Very proud to be a Red Devil fan.

That goes both ways. Heck, playing anyone in December is an awesome thing and there are only 8 teams in the entire state that get a taste of it this week.

My comment about busing and percentages was not a jab, but just an opportunity for Mercer to clear up any misconceptions people have out there. The way most people thought (me included) was Mercer County and Harrodsburg are two separate high schools with 1 administration and 1 football team. Coldweatherfan - Thanks for a good guess answer. I was not aware kids from both schools were attending both buildings and it does make me feel more like an actual merger has taken place. As for the game on Friday. Well, As much as I would love to see the Devils repeat, it doesn't look like anyone is capable of stopping this Mercer team. Maybe the Devils can slow them down a little, get a few breaks and stay in it, but all indications are Mercer County to get their first ring.

So kids get on a bus to switch classes? I know you don't know the actual numbers for what I am going to ask, but just give me an estimate so to help me understand please. What percentage of kids that only went to MCHS last year now attend the old Harrodsburg school?

Belfry fans and administration - WOW what a spectacular facility. Incredible to say the least. The entire community I'm sure is proud of it. However, I did find one flaw. The bathrooms can not even come close to handling that kind of crowd. I suggest maybe a couple porta johns next time.

I agree with Jeepman. The 5A thing is a beaten horse and the players have zero control over that. They just want to play football and win. I disagree with Midee. Mercer has a very good team and I think they will be competitive next year, even in 5A

I agree and do not consider Corbin a west team either. As I do not consider Mercer Co a west team. Nope you did not see a mention of 2002, that's why I added it. Danville and Mercer had some great runs. Nobody has ever doubted that. And by the way, as for you being of tired of all the talk, I didn't even mention Russell. But since you brought it up, Russell is 40-3 over the last three years, has 17 District Champiobships, 8 Regional Championships and 2 State Championships. Outside of Belfry, tell me a 2A team that can compare to that. I'm not trying to sound arrogant, those are facts. Please define elite. Tell me the elite 2A programs. Please.

Well you did leave out two issues. 1) 2002 Breathit County 53, Corbin 0, Don't know the stats, but I'm guessing...well ok, I'm pretty sure they were lopsided. 2) Mercer has been an East team until this year.

If Mercer County needs bulletin board material for the State Championship, you've got problems. Post that one.

I meant non-biased as far as the radio guys. Sorry about the mistake. From what I remember of the PA guy, he becomes quite the cheerleader over the loudspeaker. I guess that's his choice, I have just always thought the PA person should be fairly non-biased when calling a game.

Three years in a row now , we've been lucky enough to half both. Hey Orisonspi, Nice little pice on the stadium and I appreciate the info. I do have a question though. You mentioned the radio guy and that he was pretty bias which made me think.....Do you guys have the same PA guy?

Jeepman is right about Campbell though. I think he got about 5 yards a carry. I'm not sure Russell ever stopped him for less than 4.
