Final

Congrats to Rowan County on the win. :thumb:

A tough loss for GCHS tonight, sounds like it was a great game. GC.......shake this one off and work towards the next one, keep your heads up. :thumb:

Heard Greenup was up by 2 scores in the second half

Greenup led 22-2 at the half, Rowan Co. stormed back for the win. The Carter kid is a heck of a player.

What in the world happened? I thought for sure GC had this one. Sounds like our game against Boyd Co. I still imagine Carter had over 200 yards rushing.

This one was definately a heartbreaker. Greenup led the game until the very end. Rowan scored to take the lead with less than 2 minutes left on the clock. We had this one and it slipped away from us...

There is probably going to be alot of talk about the bad calls made by the refs, the delay of game penalties, etc.

The boys played their hearts out. They left it all on the field, blood, sweat and, yes, even tears. We are better than we played tonight, We are better than so many thought we would be....

Keep your heads up boys, We are proud of you. We need to look forward to next week. Fix what needs fixing and keep improving. Fans were great tonight. We were loud! Don't start fingerpointing. As coach said on the field, We win as a Family and we lose as a Family.

All for One and One for All.

Your getting closer to that big WIN Hard to lose one like that. Sounds like you played hard. Next week is another big game. I don't know if you got a little tired and needed to give a little extra effort. Or Rowan Co woke up the second half. What does everyone think. Lets not blame it on the refs. When you lose it's always the refs. I can't stand it when we lose and everyone blames the refs. But there is so many things that we could of done to change the out come. Better luck next week Greenup. Put out that extra effort when your tired and you don't think you can go another play. Lay it all on the line. If you do that next week good things will happen friday. Don't let the next one slip away.

Tough Loss, Defense was again the key..

I listened to some of this one on the radio. It seemed like Greenup's defense has to get some credit for holding what was an explosive Rowan County offense to 0 points for nearly 3 quarters of play. They couldn't close them out, though. As Al Pacino so emotionally stated in Any Given Sunday, football is a game of inches and I'm sure there were many plays in the 4th quarter where the result would have been different had there been a few inches here and there go Greenup's way.

Credit has to be given to Rowan on an inspired comeback, though. What a great job to not give up when things looked so bleak. The margin in this one tells me two things. One, Rashard Carter is an unbelievable running back and two, Greenup's program is headed in the right direction. I know it's probably painful for the Greenup players, but sometimes heartbreaking losses are part of the process of learning to win.

Rowan should be competing for a district title this year.
