I've noticed some of the All "A" Regional Baseball Tournaments have started up. Who are the favorites in each Region? Looks like the 15th is gonna be between Pikeville and Paintsville.

It's down to Danville and Somerset in the 12th. I haven't seen Somerset play this year, but I have seen Danville a couple of times. Danville will be tough to beat.

Is Danville going to be without Duran Elmore for awhile? I had heard he had a serious cut on his palm that required several stitches. Somerset started out 7-0 before dropping 3 in a row in Florida. They bounced back in a big way today when they pummelled Owensboro for 7 homers in a 19-2 win.

 

Danville has dropped 4 out of 5--should be a good matchup next Tuesday.

Well, Pikeville beat Paintsville 7-1 to avenge an early season loss and win the game that matters more. Pikeville still has work to do to represent the 15th, but I would think they are the favorite.

 

16th Region starts Saturday.

In the 13th it is down to Williamsburg and Middlesboro which are supposed to play today according to KHSAA.

 

I checked out last year's result for the 13th and Middlesoro not only won, but they ended up making it to the Final Four.

Probably comes down to Beechwood and Holy Cross in the ninth.

I would not rule out St. Henry in the 9TH.

You're right. New Cath is in the All "A" and I would definitely consider them a front runner in the ninth. They've played extremely well as of late, but my question about their team is pitching. I know Meyer and Cain are two of the best, but the way the "A" is set up a team will need depth in order to win it. Aside from Meyer and Cain, who else can help take the Breds down to state?

Russell shouldn't even be in it. They complained a few years ago in football because a TRUE 3A team wasn't against them in the playoffs. Now they have dropped to play the small A schools in this tourney.

You apparently don't know what determines if you qualify for the all "A"

I know. Its not by football. They are in it because some smaller school declined. The all A takes the smallest 125 that accept an invitation. Which means that some 2 A schools didnt accept and it made it to Russell. Who accepted so they can feel good about beating the smaller schools. :laugh:
