  1. Corey, graduated and is heading to the Air Force Academy. Junior Tony Knox will be handling the workload and running back this year. Tony has the potential to be great, he played quite a bit last year as a sophomore. BE will be somewhat green this year, but expectations are still high. The junior and sophomore classes are very strong. There aren't many numbers in the senior class, but there are some very good players.
  2. Much of their rankings are based on last season. BE did win the region last year, beathing both of those teams. It's not like BE is a bunch of stiffs, but I think BE should be slightly behind those teams going into this year.
  3. Whatever team is playing North Bullitt is my second favorite team!
  4. I appreciate BE being ranked no.1 in the region, but I think they are basing it too much on last season. I would personally rank it: 1. Boyle County 2. Lou. Central 3. Bullitt East 4. Southwestern 5. North Bullitt
  5. I know it has happened before. Another school in this county had a player while in eighth grade, played in the Bullitt County Youth League and freshman football.
  6. You can tell more easily by their basketball uniforms, but they do were purple.
  7. I would argue that Bowling Green should be No.1 in AAA. They return a ton of talent from last year.
  8. If Boyle can find some receivers to replace the one's the graduated, I think they can have a really good season. It is always a big plus to have a senior quarterback, especially when you throw the ball as often as Boyle does. I would expect Boyle to make it to the semifinals or maybe beyond.
  9. I went to the Jeffersontown High School website and the only game they listed was their game against Montgomery County. I'm not sure where to find the matchups for all 4 games.
  10. No, it will be the opening game of the 2006 season.
  11. Bullitt East will be there in '07 as well.
  12. Tony Knox, Bullitt East. He split time at running back last year opposite of Corey Rakes. Tony will be a junior this upcoming season and is ready to shine. He had a tremendous spring and he added weight and speed.
  13. I would also expect Boyle to be very strong this year.
  14. Corey Rakes - Air Force (conditional)
  15. He was also an assistant under Mike Egan at Bullitt East
  16. This will be a bit of a rebuilding year for BE, but by the end of next season the Chargers could be pretty strong. Look for BE to make another strong push in 2007 & 2008.
  17. John Hardin has a very nice facility.
  18. If that is the case, then those kids will NEVER know how to win. Kids need to learn how to win and lose. It helps you deal with lifes' ups and downs. Sheltering kids like that only hurts them in the long run. If that is the mentality around that school, no one in their right mind would take that job.
  19. That would be the best option, but the program has fallen so far it is going to take time to even be moderately succesful. The first thing they need is some stablility in the coaching staff. They will never get anywhere if they keep starting over every couple of years. They need to think long term, a coach needs atleast 5 years there to even begin turning the program around. If at the end of that time no progress is being made then a change can be made. One thing is certain, the program can only do 2 things, improve or stay the same, it can't get worse.
  20. It is hard to schedule softly in their district. They play 8 district games, that leaves room for only 2 "soft" teams.
  21. Bullitt East will have 7th and 8th graders starting to lift next week.
  22. I'll second that one. That is a stupid rule. We lost 20 yards of field position on a missed FG
  23. We were senior heavy this year. I personally wouldn't put BE in the top 10 for next year as it will be a rebuilding year. I still expect 7 or 8 wins in the regular season. We have to replace 4 on the OL, if we can fill those holes then we could be a top ten team. I would think we would be down a little next year, but we will be absolutely loaded in 2007 and 2008.
  24. Travis will be a senior next year and we expect him to have a strong season.
