After getting to see Rockastle Co. last year, I love the way they block up front and I really think that they'll be a strong contender for the title next year. #75 was an absolute hoss last year. I also expect all the usual suspects to be near the top again. Additionally I think that Hopkinsville led by taylor will be very good next year and may challenge the three B's in the west.(Boyle, Bowling Green, Bullitt East)

They'll be fine next year, but this may upset some people,I don't believe Letton is of the same caliber when it comes to in-game decision making as Sphire and this will really hurt them if they try to run the same offense next year. Also anytime you lose possibly the best QB in the state's history let alone team history, you are going to have some trouble finding a replacement. One of the tings that will help Catholic rebound quickly is the fact that their district is very weak and they will be able to win some games late and build confidence heading into the playoffs. To answer the question about specific players, Catholic's got tons of playmakers , but far and away their biggest is Shane Israel, he is a threat to take it to the house anytime he touches the ball.

I think Highlands will have a very strong Defense returning several core players such as Linebackers Zach Hurtt and Luke Stein, Greg mcgraw at safety....their problem is gong to be developing a passing attack. I don't remember ever seeing them using anyone at QB but Huedepohl and Cecil.......I know Kramer is back and the Freshman Connor is slated to fill the other RB from what I am hearing.... The QB job is up for grabs from what I hear. Unless they get some size upfront, they are going to be Lex CAtholic's stepchild...... anybody know of any strong lineman coming back... I do remember Ryan Ball.... that guy has bigger guns than Triple H.....

Rockcastle will defitnitly be a strong contender for the title next year. Its #74 you were talking about I think (peopleschamp) thats a hoss. He's 6'5 290 but along with his returning lineman they will be one of the best in 3A next year.

The O line is stacked for next year. Four returning starters will be Koop,Ashton,Roller and Shlosser all seniors. Jr. to be Alex Hempfling and another senior Eagan will round out what should be one of the best units to come through. They have good size, strength and mobility as a whole. You would think the plan would be to run a lot, but you never know with Dale. West Coast Offense ;)

Highlands is always going to be in the hunt. Rockcastle should be really good. Lex Cath is going to have to find a QB but could have arguably the best skill kids in the state (Caldwell, Isreal, Revere, Guy etc). Ashland, Johnson Central and Bell should also be tough with Lawrence Co and Mason Co possibly suprising some people. In the West Bowling Green has a lot back and should be tough. Hoptown's QB is VERY athletic so I would think he will keep them in a lot of games. I'm sure Cov Cath and Boyle will be in the thick of things. I don't really know what Bull. East has back. Franklin Co has the best QB back in the state IMO so they might make some noise. Other than that I don't know of anybody else. Pretty much the usual suspects it looks like.

Until someone proves different...... in 3A from EKY it comes down to Bell and Rock. Occasionally Bell or Rock has a down year, and someone else from the other district steps up....... but I dont see it happening this season.

The key is going to be if Bell can get past Rock in the playoffs..... or if the Rock will continue their dominance. It seemed that in '04 Bell was turning the tide against the Rock, but Rock put a good ole fashion butt whoopin on Bell in the regional championship. Both teams return a load, and it should be very interesting.

I wouldn't be to fast on underestimating the other District. Teams are different every year so I wouldn't get to hung up on there not being tough competition in that Region. I think Rock is the favorite preseason there though.

Any chance this kid takes over at QB? I hear he's a stud athlete. Could we possibly see a switch to maybe a wishbone/option type offense? Good line, a few good RB's and a great athlete at QB, sounds like the 'Birds may be able to play some smashmouth football.

Rock is the definate favorite.... with Bell being a close second. I totally agree.... you cant underestimate the other district.... it just seems like it has been Bell and Rock in the regional championship for sooooo long (with the one exception being the year Bell was upset and bowed out early). Obviously teams differ from year to year and a team may step up from that district. I really hope someone from that district steps it up and upsets the Rock...... just as much as that district has a tough time getting past Bell and Rock, Bell has a tough time getting past Rock. It would be nice to see Bell in the regional championship playing someone other then the Rock. :D
