What kids that made a difference this past year are from Frankfort? Names? Franklin had a nice team and Ammons is the top QB in the state next year in my eyes. Harrison had a heck of a team this year but battled the injury bug.

Would The Lexington School be a feeder to Lexinton Catholic?

What's "The Lexington School?" I was talking about Mary Queen.

Well I am not sure who said what in the last few posts but I will tell you that Lex. Cath's District is far from weak, Franklin County, Harrison County will make some noise in anyones district in 3a. East Jessamine and West Jessamine are no slouch either.

The Lexington School is a non-religious private school K-8 maybe. There is also another called the Montesori School, and I think SCAPA, the School for Creative and Performing Arts is still around.

The Lexington School is where Chase Minniefield went to middle school. They play basketball in Lexington Catholic's parochial league but they are not associated to any parish in the Lexington diocese. I just wonder what high school the Lexington School will be assigned to if this feeder school thing passes.

Yes it does :mad: Mason County won the AAA Region IV Crown in 2003 :eek: And Ashland has been the Regional Finals 2 of the last 3 years so I'm missing why you are claiming the the its always Rock and Bell in the finals???

I didnt say that it was always Rock and Bell in the finals ...... I said that either Rock or Bell has WON the regional final since '00 to the present (with '04 being the lone exception because Mason won the regional title, has you pointed out. My bad, I forgot, shoot me ).

 

My point was that this region has traditionally been dominated by either Rock or Bell for quite some time (at least in the new millenium), and you can't deny that.... 5 out of the last 6 regional crowns. If Rock or Bell make it to the regional finals they are a lock to win it.

 

As far as Ashland goes.... Ashland HAS made it to the regional finals 2 of the last 3 years..... however..... besides the year that Mason won it, the regional crown has never really came down to any team in the district opposite Bell and Rock (at least recently). In most peoples mind..... the regional crown was the Bobcat's after Ashland beat a very young Rockcastle team in the regional semis.

 

I agree that some good teams reside in that district and have a chance each year to win the regional crown, Ashland being one of them......... but besides Mason Co. in '04, none have accomplished this feat. Based on last seasons outcome, and the way this region has traditionally turned out....... I dont see anyone doing it this year either, thats all I'm saying. :irked:

A lot of kids that attend the Lexington School go to Sayre downtown, but the problem is that they don't have a football team.

I knew it was pretty amazing how Rock's dominance has really flown under the radar. Bell dosen't deserve to be in the same category as Rock in this century as far as dominance goes. Rockcastle has been in a class of their own!

I wouldnt be so sure about Bell not deserving mentioning, considering that most of those regional crowns have come via defeating Bell in the regional championship. These 2 teams battle it out every year for the district, and alot of times for the region...... but I will agree and say that Rock has definantly been the bigger brother to Bell.

I think they deserve to be mentioned but I think it's a little arrogant to overlook some of the programs in the other District. Rockcastle has been the cream of the crop and they are about the only one's they have any support to talk smack when it comes to being dominant in the Region. It's them then everybody else until they start getting knocked off.

I pull for most of those schools but they aren't in the same category as Rock right now as far as what has been accomplished in the 21st century. Rock is loaded again this year. Any of the teams I mentioned have the capability to dominate on a given year in that Region. JC is also loaded but have to prove it in the playoffs. I like Bell Co a lot but acting like they are dominant compared to the other District isn't a very good argument. Rockcastle saying it on the other hand has some validity. Rock has beaten a lot of those teams out over the years.

But so has Bell. The only thing keeping Bell from being the #1 team in this region is the Rock. I agree..... Rock is #1...... but Bell is #2. It just seems since '00 Bell hasnt been able to get past the Rock....... it hasnt been other teams from the other district standing in their way, its been the Rock.

I meant..... I dont see "the region coming down to Rock and Bell" changing...... hopefully Bell can get past the Rock.
