  1. I know the opening week of High School Football is different for every school. Lots of schools play in a bowl game on Sat. Aug. 19th but some open up friday the 18th. Which games are being played that opening friday August 18th???
  2. So is the T.R Christopher kid really gonna suit up for the Redhounds cause I have heard that he was ruled ineligable cause you can't transfer schools and live with a relative, it has to be your imediate family (Mother/Father)....So I heard he is staying in a Bobcat uniform this year???
  3. All my congrats go out to the young man. I've heard a lot of people doggin Brent (mostly on other websites) about choosin Auburn. Saying there is no way he will make it and he won't even play special teams. Brent don't listen to any of that cause if you weren't good enough for Auburn then they never would have offered you. With all the offers this kid got i would like to know what happen with the Tennesee offer??? But like I said it's Brents choice and he will make the right decision no matter what. CONGRATS :dancingpa
  4. Rockcastle's thoughts and prayers are with all of these young lives and families that were saved from that crash....we wish them all a speedy recovery
  5. I won't be making the trip either but kick some orange tail Kentucky All-Stars and best of luck to everybody that plays....come home safe with a victory on your shoulders:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Good Luck Mikey Denny, show them Tennessee boys what Rockcastle is all about!!!
  6. As far as AAA goes I think the Rock has the biggest chances hands down!!! Even though they have a big team doesn't mean they won't meet some challanges along the way. Bowling Green, Highlands, Lex Cath, Bell, Boyle and many more are gonna have great teams in '06. All this talk is just getting me all excited and amped up for the '06 season. I CAN'T WAIT TILL KICKOFF!!! GO ROCK
  7. Thanks ystick, I would of hated to go to Centre and no football game was being played. Harrodsburg isn't that far anyway so I'll still make the trip. GO ROCKETS
  8. I'm not for sure on this but I think 3 Rockcastle players are in the All-Star game. Charles Cunagin #84 LB Gabe Stallsworth #10 RB/CB Bucky Skinner #24 LB/RB Very proud of these outstanding players they deserve it. Does anyone know what time the game starts cause I'm gonna make the trip to Centre to watch these 3 great athletes. Congratulations to them. :dancingpa
  9. Wow if this T.R. Chistopher deal is true its gonna favor Corbin a whole lot. If true Bell Co. is one of those teams that can bounce back and still be in pretty good shape throughtout the season. (speaking of that as much as the Bell/Rockcastle rivalry is, Rockcastle will see both Corbin and Bell Co. in the opening week if this is true???) Corbin should be thrilled if they get this kid cause he's really a good RB, fast, hard to take down, and most importantly doesn't quit which will take him a long way down the road. So like the thread said if this is true what a pickup for the Redhounds!!!
  10. Well to start off the Rock returns the whole Offensive/Defensive line with: Sr. #73 David Robbins 6'2 300 Jr. #62 Scott Daughtery 6'0 280 Sr. #50 Donavan Pigg 6'2 250 Sr. #52 Billy Hines 6'3 320 Sr. #53 Adam Mink 6'0 250 Sr. #63 Adam Hensley 6'1 230 Sr. #74 Brad Durham 6'5 290 Now all of these guys played in '05 except for #62 (Torn ACL) but (#73, #50, #63, #74) were all starters on last years team but with the addition of #62 who started his freshman year puts the Offensive/Defensive Line right were it left off in '05. With the addition of the other players the Rock will have good depth too. Skill Positions: Sr. #81 Shawn Childress 6'3 215 Sr. #23 Dusty Miller 5'8 185 Sr. #17 Izak MaCueary 5'8 180 Sr. #3 Josh Garrison 6'0 210 Sr. #2 Lynn Miracle 6'3 170 Sr. #29 Josh Renner 5'9 180 Jr. #14 Zach Burkhart 6'0 190 The QB for the Rock in '06 is between (#17, #14, a freshman) they all have QB experience of somewhat. We even lost a running back from '05 but gain #23 (Torn ACL). All of these players and more that I have not mentioned have all played in '05. As you see the Rock returns a lot of experienced players who have played since soph. year (#50, #63, #74, #81, #23, #17, #14) and the rest played in '05. Also, the one thing the Rock will have this upcoming year that they haven't had in a while is depth in all positions (which is awsome!!!!) Can't Wait till Kickoff in '06
  11. Thats great for Bell Co. that they have a lot of yong players with experience, but there is a difference between 16-17 year olds (Bell Co.) against 18-19 year olds (Rock). The 18-19 yr old group seems to be more mature in life(most of the time) as well as on the field which makes a big difference (I personally think) in a football game. Don't get me wrong that doesn't mean the older team always wins but its a big advantage...
  12. You make a valid point HSsportsfan but look at the people both teams returned in '04. Bell had an outstanding group of guys (Shawn Robbins graduating class) and Rock was in the rebuilding stage. There you have two totally different teams, but in '05 both Rock and Bell were dominated by the junior class, and returning about the same teams as '05 I'm just saying it could be a repeat in '06. But your right it is High School Football and lots of things can happen in a year (injuries, quiters, transfers etc.) So well just have to see!!!
  13. Oh don't worry Rockcastle took the loss no doubt about that but with that loss it just made the 21-0 SHUTOUT ON LOG MOUNTIAN that much sweeter!!!! And its gonna be even sweeter in '06 when the Rock will not only beat Bell Co. in a district matchup but as well in the Regional Championship AGAIN!!!! Mark my word for it cause if Bell got ran off the field in both matchups in '05 than there is no telling how bad Hilton and the Bobcats will lose in '06
  14. Yeah im kind of curios to about the 435 lb. bench. Please give us this guys height and weight and other stats cause that is unbelievably good.
  15. You can't sit here and say Bell Co. didn't get wooped up and down the field in the district matchup. If it wasn't for a couple of key plays (which very good plays that were called fair) they would've never had the chance at the touchdown they didn't score!!! You even said it yourself "Bell Co. had to fight from behind". Don't think I don't have evidence to back that touchdown call up, because everybody in Rockcastle has seen it on film. If Bell Co. is smart they would burn the film. Anyway on the film the ref that called the touchdown ran on the field as if he were going to spot the ball, but when he got into the pile which was 2 seconds later he called it a touchdown. Something else, that ref that changed his call had no evidence that the ball crossed the plain cause the ball was in the QB's right hand and the ref was on the left side of the field. The most obvious reason he didn't score was because he was hit in mid-air going backwards. If you or anyone can sit here and tell me how to score a touchdown going backwards ill stop talking about the whole thing, but until you do that i'm still calling it NO TOUCHDOWN!!! The only reason i am a bit mad at the call anyway is because it cost Rockcastle from being District Champions. It was shown and proved on the field that the Rock was the best team in their district in '05
  16. It's gonna be hard to defeat the '05 regional champs in '06 with all of the returning starters but look at it this way, the Rock absolutly destroyed Bell Co. twice in '05. Yeah i know Bell won on a last second (cheating) touchdown but there is no question that the Rock ran Bell off the field in both of those bouts. With the Rock returning basically there whole offensive/defensive line and most of there skill players its gonna be hard to compete with them. But its high school football and anything can happen so we'll just have to see....
  17. Rockcastle will defitnitly be a strong contender for the title next year. Its #74 you were talking about I think (peopleschamp) thats a hoss. He's 6'5 290 but along with his returning lineman they will be one of the best in 3A next year.
  18. It's hard to compete with places like Ashland and Corbin, but Rockcastle is pretty well known and well feared by many teams. They have a great speaker system for pre-game and a cannon and fireworks for touchdowns and field goals. Besides all the entertainment it seems to be a very hard place to play for other teams. Rockcastle also holds the longest winning streak for home games at i think 22 but not for sure.
  19. Loaded isn't the word for Rockcastle's returning team. They return just about all starters from last year except a QB (which hurts them the most) and a couple of LB's (which can easily be filled with upcoming players who played a lot last year) and there first team all-state center Mikey Denny. Returning that missed last year with injuries is a very stout lineman who started his freshman year Scott Daughtery (5'10 270 lbs. benches over 300, dead lifts around 500 and squats at least 500). The rockets also return a very quick and agile RB/CB Dusty Miller (5'6 175 lbs. benches around 250 and runs a 4.6 "40") He is coming back from a torn ACL and looks better than ever. Those are just some of the people coming back from injuries. Did anyone mention the O-Line/D-Line returning? Well its everybody but Denny and again they gain Daughtery. Heres what I know. David Robbins #73 (6'1 290 lbs. very strong in weightroom and experienced) Adam Hensley #63 (6'0 220 lbs. the smallest but saw some FB at end of 05) Donavan Pigg #50 (6'1 235 lbs. not the biggest but has 3 years experience) Brad Durham #74 (6'5 285 lbs. has many D-1 colleges and can dominate) Billy Hines #52 (6'2 320 lbs. needs some work but could see a lot of action) Adam Mink #53 (6'0 220 lbs. not the biggest but is showing great potential) Not to mention all of these guys are seniors and have played enough to be one of the best O-Line/D-Line in the state of Kentucky. They will have to pay the price and prove themselves in the weightroom this winter to be unstoppable in 06. Here's what I know about the skill players returning which includes Dusty Miller. Shawn Chilress #81 (6'2 215 lbs. major D-1 prospect who has played 3 years) Izak MaQuery #17 (5'7 170 lbs. solid defensive player who has played 3 years) Zach Burkhart #14 (6'0 210 lbs. looking to step up at QB and a solid LB) Josh Garrison #3 (6'0 200 lbs. played a lot in 05 and looking to start defense) Lynn Miracle #2 (6'4 175 lbs. played WR in 05 and aggresive defensive play) There is many other players on the team that can step up at anytime and play but just to show you how stacked the rockets are in 06 (only juniors are Burkhart and Daughtery). But like any other team they have to take it one day at a time and improve every practice. This team can be very special for Coach Tom Larkey and Coach Tony Saylor. This is my team to beat in the mountians in 06. GO ROCK!!!
  20. That would be some intresting matchups Bell/Belfry and Rock/Belfry and the traditional smashmouth Bell/Rock game. I know for a fact that Rock returns a lot of players but lose one key position and thats QB. They say Matthew Burkharts little brother Zach will take over but then they say there looking at an upcoming freshman so i don't know for sure. One thing I do know is they will be packing a punch in the 06 season with a HUGE offensive/defensive line and lots of skill players as well. It's gonna be a good matchup again cause Bell returns A LOT of players so well just have to wait, and the wait will be worth it.
  21. The mountains is gonna have plenty of compitition in the 06 season, with all of the great teams coming back with young studs, but i want to hear what yall got to say about the best team. Who's gonna be the team to beat???
  22. The Rock once again returns a solid team 6'2 285 David Robbins (LT) Sr. #73 6'0 275 Scott Daughtery (LG) Jr. #62 6'3 310 Billy Hines (T) Sr. #52 6'2 250 Donnavan Pigg (RG) Sr. #50 6'5 280 Brad Durham (RT) Sr. #74 That's just the Offensive and Defensive Line Here are some other standouts 6'3 215 Shawn Childress (WR-SS) Sr. #81 5'6 175 Dusty Miller (HB-CB) Sr. #23 5'7 160 Izak McQuery (WR-CB) Sr. #17 6'0 175 Zach Burhkhart (LB) Jr. #14 Those are just some of the returning starters for Rockcastle....The Line led them to the state semi finals this year and only losing 1 lineman from that senoir group I'd look out in 2006
  23. Well i would definitly have Rock, Bell, Belfry in my top 3 (not in any order) I dont know Bell Co. or Belfry records in the past 20 years but Rockcastle has had only 1 losing season since Tom Larkey has been head coach and that was his first year. Very impresive
  24. Just want to hear some of the biggest wins for your local football teams this year. Personally the biggeset win for Rockcastle Co. this year had to come in the regional championship against Bell Co. The Rock shut out Dudley Hilton and the Bobcats for the first time in 10 years. It's still exciting to this day!!! Way to go Rock. What are some other big wins from other teams?
