Anyone have info on the Whitley County players that got in a car wreck earlier today?

Featured Replies

Two whitley co. football players were involved in a serious car accident today after their evening practice, does anyone have anymore information on the status of these guys?

Any word on which players and their injuries? Certainly our prayers and thoughts go out to the players and their families.

I certainly hope there are no serious injuries. Prayers and thoughts for the players and their families.

The wreck involved two of Whitley's finest players Jamie Labanion and Cody Jones. Cody's sister was also in the accident.

Labanion has a severe concussion and spent the night in the hospital. He was released this morning and is expected to be fine.

Cody's sister Jade (a fine ball player as well) sustained a broken wrist and several cuts and bruises. She also spent the night in the hospital and was released.

Cody Jones (a 3 sport star and a very fine young man) sustained what is described as very bad multiple compoud fractures in his leg between his knee and ankle. I have no details as to the true extent of the injuries but he remains in the Trauma Unit at the University of Tenn. Hospital in Knoxville.

I have no reliable information on the passengers of the other vehicle although I have heard they sustained substantial injuries and were transported to Knoxville as Cody was.

Your prayers are needed and will be appreciated.

My prayers go out for all those involved in this accident – and for their families too.

Thank God they've made it with what sounds like repairable injuries...... that's what's most important, those young lives are still with us.

Cody does indeed have some very serious leg and foot injuries and had to have rods and pins inserted. This fine young man has a long recovery in front of him and needs to stay in everyone's prayers.

Cody is out for the season but, thank God he is going to fully recover.

I understand that he will be able to start rehab in a couple of months.

Is he coming home from the hospital today?

The important thing is that he will be okay. I am happy that these kids survived this crash. I wish him the best in his recovery as well as the other 2 kids in the accident.
