  1. The spread is tougher to defend, but quarterbacks capable of running that offense are in short supply in high school. If a team has a good to great quarterback they are very difficult to defend. If the qb isn't solid, that allows teams to stick with their base, not get spread out as much, and the offense is pretty easy to stop. Unless a team has a very fast running back, a well coached defense, disciplined defense will eat up a wing-t offense. Once you know the ins and outs of the offense and learn to read your keys, your linebackers will be in the backfield all night long. I don't like the wing-t because there is way too much time spent running east and west. There are a few teams that run it well and usually have to type of back necessary to make it work, but I would much rather play a good wing-t team than a good spread team.
  2. This is the second one loss season in school history (This was only our 25th year of football). The previous one was 2002 when our only loss was to Boyle Co., who was the champion that year.
  3. 2 people have Boyle Co. in their top 5, and only 1 has Bullitt East despite the fact the BE beat them. WOW!
  4. BE was in the 2A finals in 94.
  5. I was also surprised that they went for two then. They were probably confident that they could get it. Nonetheless, it was a great game and we'll try to carry the region against BG.
  6. Thanks super, we hope we can represent the region as well as Boyle has.
  7. Tonight was a tremendous football game. Both teams played very hard. Boyle has nothing to hang their heads about. They had a fantastic run, and my hat goes off to them. The atmosphere at the game was unbelievable, fans from both sides made lots of noise and really supported their teams well. I hope everyone from Boyle had a safe trip home.
  8. I'd say you got them all. :thumb:
  9. When was Boyle's 1st regional title? Since BE has only been in exsistence since 1980, that stat could be a little misleading.
  10. The station in Mt. Washington that will air the game is 93.9 FM. I'm not sure about being able to pickup the Bardstown game.
  11. I agree that it would have been much closer, but that is not my point. Not only were the TO's lopsided, but so were the total yards. BE rushed for 297 yards against that vaunted PSW defense. BE can play with Boyle, despite what some on here seem to think, that is my only point.
  12. I wasn't comparing scores earlier, just wondering how a PSW team that BE beat soundly could play with Boyle, but BE couldn't in that posters mind. It may be a long night for both defenses in this game. As for facts, BE has a 10-1 home playoff record. The only loss came to eventual state champion Caldwell Co. in the '98 AA semi-finals.
  13. So let me get this straight, PSW can play with Boyle County, only losing by 5 points, but BE is going to lose to Boyle by 37. Boyle County may very well win the game, but your prediction is ridiculous. Both teams are very good and it should be a close game. How can you possibly think Boyle is 37 points better?
  14. There is a Hometown Pizza very close to the high school.
  15. That's an isolated incident, every crowd has a few. The school tries to promote an exciting environment, not a hostile one.
  16. Actually, Jones was 12-32 for 178 yards and 2 ints.
  17. If it weren't for the suspensions Bullitt East would have likely been the #1 seed. The two best players (QB and RB) were suspended for 2 distirct games and we lost both games. The losses came to Waggener and Breckinridge Co. That BE team whipped Waggener in the 2nd round of the playoffs. PSW vs. BE should have been a regional final, not a 1st round game.
  18. I knew they had several, that is impressive.
  19. How many D1A signees has PSW had over the last 10 years?
  20. I agree that Boyle's passing game is very strong. The biggest problem I had was a PSW fan making that comment with no reason to say that given his team's performance.
  21. I don't think it will be a very high scoring game. I would guess both teams will probably score in the 20's. I think BE is better than most people give them credit for. Every week we hear some reason why we are going to lose. Whether it is because we played a weak schedule or because we won't be able to run the ball or we can't stop the pass. Somehow we've managed to win every game, most of them handily. If the game against PSW is any indication, BE can certainly play with Boyle. I expect this to be a back and forth game.
  22. No, he said BE can't stop the pass, Boyle will win by at least 14. He forgot a comma.
  23. The lineman was James Clark, 6'3" 300 lbs. He and Minton went head to head most of the night.
  24. That comment came from a PSW fan, what has he seen to make him think we can't stop the pass? He didn't see anything last night that would convince him of that.
