Chicks dig Scars Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Whats your 3A top 10 for 2006? 2006 Pre Season AAA Top 10 1 Lexington Catholic - Returns Israel and Caldwell but loses Burke. 2 Bowling Green - RB Hibbitt returns along with OL/DL Stuart Hines 3 Highlands - Played many young players in '05. 4 Rockcastle Co. - Larkey's team appears loaded for '06 5 Boyle Co. - Rebels will make noise but big year is '07. 6 Bell Co. - Hilton will battle Larkey again for the region 4 crown. 7 Cov Cath - Lost a lot of talent but talent is reloaded for the Colonels. 8 Hopkinsville - Talented RB in Emmanuel Taylor. 9 Bullitt East - Can the Chargers build on '05? 10 Franklin Co. - QB Ammons returns for the Flyers. 11-15 Ashland Mason Co. Southwestern Paducah Tilghman Warren East
GR8BigBull Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 That is a pretty good drop for Bullitt East, what do they have coming back? I thought they were still a young team and not too senior heavy in '05.
BFritz21 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 CovCath at 7? They're returning a lot of talent, including a bunch of solid players on offense, strong defensive talent, and a lot of solid young players to fill the open spots, including Bleser, who will step-up and be a very solid QB
westsider Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 The word out of the Paducah Tilghman camp is that the Tornado expects to be better in 2007 than in 2006, possibly with the benefit of a move to Class 2A. Tilghman will be all right next year, but the defense has to replace a pair of big-impact players in LB Bryan Hall and DT Antonio Faulkner.
Charger1 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 That is a pretty good drop for Bullitt East, what do they have coming back? I thought they were still a young team and not too senior heavy in '05. We were senior heavy this year. I personally wouldn't put BE in the top 10 for next year as it will be a rebuilding year. I still expect 7 or 8 wins in the regular season. We have to replace 4 on the OL, if we can fill those holes then we could be a top ten team. I would think we would be down a little next year, but we will be absolutely loaded in 2007 and 2008.
Chicks dig Scars Posted December 29, 2005 Author Posted December 29, 2005 Warren East?Put the Raiders at #15 just for you West. They were young last year and played Tilghman tough in the playoffs.
GoldenEagleFan Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I think Johnson Central will be in the thick of things in 2006. Deserving of an 11-15 ranking.
UNDERTHEBRIDGE Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I'd say Lexington Catholic won't be a favorite going into the season. Despite returning two of the best offensive players in 3A and maybe the state, the loss of Burke will be huge and they are going to need to find a QB to replace him. Also a lot of senior leadership was lost on the defensive side of the ball and they will need to get a few guys to step up there. I believe they have Jacob Locknane though to at least help out seein as he was a leader of the defense this season. A lot will be riding on Israel coming out and performing well early until the passing game gets on track.
super Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 This is early for this, but what the heck, heres' goes nothing. 1 Highlands 2 Bowling Green 3 Rockcastle Co. 4 Lexington Cath. 5 Hopkinsville 6 Covington Cath. 7 Bell Co. 8 Boyle Co. 9 Southwestern 10 Bullitt East
Flipper Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Looks like everyone thinks that JC is going to suck or something. Considering they aren't in the top 15 AT LEAST!!!! Blume and Music wasn't the whole team.
Cynical Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Looks like everyone thinks that JC is going to suck or something. Considering they aren't in the top 15 AT LEAST!!!! Blume and Music wasn't the whole team. When you lose half your offense in one player, yeah, you did pretty much lose your whole team.
stick1 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I think Johnson Central will be the favorite to win that Distirct and one of the top 3 teams in the Region. Until they get it done in the post season they will never earn a lot of statewide respect though. Same story every year. Tons of talent and nothing in the post season. Personally I think they are top 10 preseason talent wise.
The Sportster Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I believe it will come down to Southwestern and Boyle Country for district again, but Pulaski has alot of talent coming back and so does Russel. Should be an exciting dristrict in the upcoming season
Tomcats7 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Stick, No way that JCHS should be favored over Ashland! Ashland has way more talent returning than JC. I'd say it should be 1.Ashland 2.Lawrence 3.JC  :dancingpa
