Rockastle Co. had the best line play of any team I saw all of last year, they dominated Catholic up front, they just didn't have the speed to stay with Catholic's horses, btw, what grade was #76 for the Rockets in, he could be an absolute stud if he was an underclassmen last year.

Stick, No way that JCHS should be favored over Ashland! Ashland has way more talent returning than JC. I'd say it should be 1.Ashland 2.Lawrence 3.JC :banana: :dancingpa

 

 

If you watched any of these teams play and noticed what grade these players were in on each team then I don't see how you can't see that Johnson Central is clearly an easy favorite to win the district and maybe the region. JCHS has too many people coming back and Ashland with the loss of Holbrook, Gurule, Reliford and others will struggle to finish higher than 4th in the district.

No, no i'm not, i know Slusher returns for bell but besides him who else do they have returning? I listed teams that I had seen play this past year or teams that i felt confident in what they return, I can be persuaded to include Bell Co. on the list but I didn't get to see bell play this year, so let me know what they've got .

 

Return basically everything except there best receiver, Hunter, and their #2 RB in Jeff Howard. Return their starting QB (Nelson), RB (Christoper), FB (his name slips my mind), TE (Slusher) and several O Linemen. Also return a solid WR in Zachery who near the end of the season started playing big as teams began keying on Hunter. Return their entire secondary except the FS, Hunter, who split time at FS with another player, Goins, who returns as well. Return their big time LB in Slusher, as well as several D-Linemen. Also return Greer who starts at corner and RB and will be Bell's #2 RB in the wishbone set that they run.

 

Bell will be practically the same team they had last year, except a little more seasoned and experienced. They are definantly a top 10 team in 3A, and one of the top 2 teams in that region! :thumb:

Almost forgot.... they have Dudley Hilton.... and that alone is probably enough to put them in the preseason top 10. :ylsuper: Mix that fact in with all the facts I listed in my previous post and you have a pretty dangerous Bell Co. team. The region will most likely come down to Bell and Rock.... as it has for the last 5 years or so..... and the winner of that game could very well be playing in Louisville!!!

peopleschamp- I believe you were referring to #74 for Rock. He is 6'6 295 and has great speed and footwork and is exceptionally strong. He is a junior. Rock retruns that whole line you saw against Catholic except they lose the center but that junior class is loaded with lineman waiting to play there were two lineman that had to sit the bench last year that would normally start on any Rocket team but you can only play five. Rock also gets their TB back and their MLB will be more seasoned since he is just a sophmore. The strongest lineman had to sit last year because of a torn ACL he will be a junior and is tough as nails, maybe the best and strongest since at the Rock and that is surpassing the Leger kid that went to UK.

The thing about Bell County is that they didn't lose much but what they did lose will hurt them a little. Hunter's presence will be missed because last year teams had to double and triple team him at times, now those extra defenders will be inside the box to stop the run. Contrary to waht some poster mentioned about Bell not losing any lineman, I believe they lost at least 3 of their starters on both sides if not 4.

Not true...... Bell loses 2 linemen on both sides of the line, but return 3 starting offensive linemen and 3 starting defensive linemen. They, much like Rock, also have several linemen waiting in the wings that are eager to take the place vacated by the graduating linemen. The biggest question mark IMO about Bell is who will take Charlie Cox's place at LB. He really stepped it up last season and played well. We still have Slusher however, and just need another LB to step it up!!! Still a top 10 3A team nonetheless!
