  1. I'm a bit surprised by some of the lopsided predictions. I think it'll go down to the wire, or no more than a 10 pt margin of victory either way. Since I live in Danville, and bill myself as an unapologetic homer, I'll say: Danville 28 Somerset 23
  2. Maybe they are all hanging out at LCA these days??
  3. Lone Oak and Fort Campbell are two that come to mind having done zero research on the issue. I'll admit I knew nothing about LO going into our game with them in the state championship last year. Man, was that ever a learning experience. Those dudes are awesome.:thumb:
  4. Highlands by whatever they decide is a proper winning margin. Going to be a tough year for Beechwood (at least by their standards).
  5. Nice W for the Ads. This team has serious potential to go far this year.
  6. Apparently Ryle has a lot of size up front this year according to the broadcasters.
  7. I'm listening to it on highlands.localsportsradio.com. Good game so far.
  8. As to the bolded, good point. Oh, btw, Danville has 10 titles a lot teams wish they had. Just saying.......................
  9. I was just down the road watching the Mayfield/Danville semi-final. Our game ended before the Boyle/Paducah game and we listened to most of the 2nd half on the radio. It was an awesome game.
  10. 1. 2009 4A state championship game between Boyle County and Lone Oak. 2. 1987 state championship between Danville and Mayfield (Danville blocked an extra point in OT to win it). 3. 1993 semi-final between Danville and Prestonsburg (Danville was stopped short on a 2 pt. conversion in OT which ended their chance to win 4 titles in a row). 4. 2003 regular season game between Danville and Highlands. Danville broke a big play late in the game to get a big win.
  11. Guess you were right. Maybe you should have a team with 10 state titles replaced by another team. Maybe you can play Lex Cath or Trinity next year. I'm not sure if they've won much to speak of. P.S. Just messing with you.
  12. Congrats to Coach Harp on #300. Looks like the Ads are back on the right track and will have a successful season.:thumb:
  13. Appreciate the thoughts. Scary that your cousin is a junior and has 2 years to wear down the carpet at your field.:scared::scared:
  14. Thanks Double P. Oddly enough I remember a truck-load of fans actually passing us because it was the only one during the drive. The truck had the Boyle "B" in the back window.
  15. Just got home. What a great game (although I only got to see the 1st half due to a trip to the ER with my son (who is OK thank goodness)). Observations: 1. These teams were VERY evenly matched and Boyle is fortunate to come away with a W. 2. JC should be 9-1 at the end of the regular season. I was very impressed with what they put on the field. 3. The Jude kid is AWESOME and will have an incredible year. He's definitely one of the quickest RB's I've seen in quite some time. 4. Boyle's offense played a very well-rounded game which is nice to see in the first game of the year. 5. JC's stadium/field is second to none and the atmosphere was very entertaining (I loved the music "sound-bites" between plays). 5. As we were leaving to take my son to the ER for a cat-scan, several JC workers and fans were absolutely fantastic in assisting us with everything such as giving us a ride out to our car, offering water and other refreshments to us, giving directions to the hospital and just providing comforting words. I'll forever be grateful for the treatment we received and will never forget how classy they were. 6. I'm really tired.
  16. Is the stadium on campus or located elsewhere in Paintsville?? Sorry if this has already been covered.
  17. Every little bit (or big strong bit) helps.
  18. What do you get when you combine 6'4" with 270 lbs and experience in an incredibly successful program? Stay tuned all....................... P.S. This has nothing to do with Mr. Dawson.
  19. Estimating I'd say about 6'4" and 225-230 at the present time. He's only 16 so who knows where he'll end up.
  20. A very impressive award for an all-around good kid. His senior year should be fun to watch.:thumb:
