  1. That was one of the Jessamine Co. teams that beat them that year, right? I remember being shocked. I think it was the week after Danville beat them to end the streak? I may be a bit off on the time line.
  2. I'll be at the Boyle/Lex Cath game friday. Sorry to hear your stuck in such an awful place and may not be able to follow the game friday (insert theoretical crocodile tear smiley here).
  3. Looks like another close Boyle Co. vs. _________ poll this week. I think Boyle wins but I'm not going to predict a blowout because of the tradition LC always brings to the table. They may be down a bit this year, but I still expect them to put up an admirable fight. Boyle better be ready to play.
  4. Replace Lex Cath with LCA and you may be on to something.
  5. The passing game was very impressive.
  6. I was impressed with the team tonight all around. Goldsmith's accuracy in the passing game tonight was phenominal. He hit some nice passes against tight coverage on several occasions. The kid seems to improve with each game. Dawson did everything tonight as usual; tackle, pursue, pressure the qb, run the ball, and make some big catches. I think I even saw him working the concession stand at one point. The defense continues to gang tackle and is more impressive with each game. Boyle definitely showed that they are not a one-dimensional team with their balanced attack on the ground and through the air.
  7. I am now prepared to make my prediction: Boyle 28 Lafayette 14
  8. The Rebels looked good tonight. Offense moved the ball very effectively both with the passing and the running game. The D also had a solid game basically shutting down everything S. Laurel tried. There was one ugly moment when several players from each team were involved in a fight, with 3 players being ejected (1 Boyle/2 S. Laurel).
  9. I wouldn't dismiss Mayfield or Beechwood.
  10. Excellent post, Double P.
  11. Sounds like an awesome game. Question. Is LCA really strong this year or is it a combination of LC being down a bit and LCA being solid? Just curious.
  12. Per the article: “Without MacShara, they wouldn’t be near the team they are,” Danville coach Sam Harp said. Duh, how astute!!! and a bit of sour grapes perhaps........................
  13. Anderson County has definitely re-emerged as a very good football team this year after several tough seasons.
  14. My bad Wireman. I was aiming for your front window.
  15. You are correct, it did. And to think it was just 3 years ago they played in the state title game. Who knows, maybe someday the glory will return.
  16. The game was actually very competitive for 1 1/2 quarters. Then, with less than a minute to go in the 1st half, Boyle scored to go up 14-3 at the half. Danville must have thought the game was called off at halftime because they never bothered to return to the field in the 2nd half. Boyle basically ran over them throughout the 3rd and 4th quarter and ultimately the continuous clock rule kicked in. During my 17 years in Danville, I've never seen an Admiral team quite like this one, and I'll just leave it at that. Go Rebels!!
  17. No stats but he got MVP for the game. He didn't have many yards early on because the field conditions were so sloppy he couldn't make his trademark cuts and slashes. However, in the 2nd half he had several long runs. I guess he probably had 175 yds or more.
  18. It's about time. Even with the loss, it sounds as if the team showed some heart tonight which is a tremendous improvement from the prior 2 outings.
