Which KY prep football program has made the most improvement in the past 10 years (since 2000)? Please provide an explanation with your answer.

I guess I'll beat him to the punch, Simon Kenton. Many SK alumn witnessed losing seasons over the years but they have become a program that continues to get better. I don't know if they'll be able to maintain with the loss of Simpson and Hansel but they are no longer an automatic W, far from it. They have helped make the NKY large school division, along with Ryle and Conner in the 2000's, a much deeper league. I would also like to add NCC. In the 90's they were second to Beechwood, every single year(with a few rare exceptions of Bellevue and Dayton). Even though they are no longer in the same class, NCC remains in consideration for top 5 in the state each season in 2A. Good Luck to Eddie Eviston in his first year trying to remain a 2A power.

I agree with SK. They were horrid in the early part of this decade.

 

Holmes comes to mind as well.

I would say Ft Campbell

I agree with everything that has been said, but another I'd throw out there is Lone Oak. They've been really really good the last few years.

FC struggled the last two years of the 90s through 2001 until Coach Berner was hired. Prior to that they usually fielded a competitive team, but couldn't get past those pesky Cardinals.

 

I agree with statman, Lone Oak has come a long way from just a few years ago.

Opened in 2001 - went 2-9 or 3-9...something like that.

2009- lost to Highlands in state championship.

Frankfort High School comes to mind. Not sure of records or anything but I know the last few years they are been pretty solid.

I agree, at least in the Jefferson County area. A little thought of school has also improved around here and that is Kentucky Country Day. So has Christian Academy for that matter. But overall, I'd go with the Yellowjackets.

John Hardin really doesn't fit this conversation. The Bulldogs went 3-7 in their opening season in 2001, and haven't had a losing season since. We're looking at teams that were easy wins (victims) in the 90s and have re-invented themselves in this decade... John Hardin really doesn't know what it's like to be downtrodden... The Bulldogs have a 71.3% winning percentage from 2001-2010 - which happens to be the entire history of the school.

Varsity football began in 2001 - went 2-8, then 1-9 in 2002

2009 - Won state championship in Class A.
