  1. I don't even know where in the state of Iowa that the school is located. Given this fact, MSU wins by 14.

  3. Well..... apparently I am now a fan of the Canes. I have been a fan of Richt for many years. He puts the class in classy. I wish him the best.
  4. These guys....... (warning-strong language, political incorrectness). Proceed with caution.
  5. I am currently reading Mein Kampf, volume 1 of 2. I've been wanting to read this autobiography for quite some time. It's a very interesting read thus far, an intimate study of the madness behind the madman so to speak.
  6. With the crackdown on prescription narcotic pain medications at the federal and state levels, an increase in heroin use was bound to happen. One of the unintended consequences of this however is that overdose deaths are skyrocketing because the purity of heroin bought on the street is an unknown. At least with prescription meds, the user knows exactly what he or she is taking. With heroin, this is not the case. I have several doctor clients who are absolutely convinced that the new laws governing the prescribing of narcotics have actually done more harm than good. I personally have never done heroin, but based on what I've read and been told by some in the medical profession, it is incredibly addictive and the recovery process is excruciating. I sympathize for all the families that are dealing with such a destuctive drug.
  7. From reading update thread, it appears to have been a strong defensive showing by both teams. Congratulations to the Breds for pulling it out in the end. That 2 point conversion took some nads.:-)

  10. I don't think I've ever seen a halftime score this lopsided. This is like a football score.
  11. Loved the ending. It was a fitting way to wrap up the series. I will definitely miss SOA. Now, we must wait for Walking Dead to return in February!!
  12. Although it has already been remade once, I would like to see On the Beach remade again with a much bigger budget than the previous remake. Good call on Duel!!!! That one is a classic.
  13. Am currently reading the book. Very engrossing, quick read so far.

  15. The #5 team in the country was held to 12 pts in the 2nd half. Wow. Can't imagine how good this Kentucky team will be by the end of the year.
  16. One word: sterilization. I know it sounds harsh, but if you are going to go around and impregnate one woman after another and NOT offer any sort of assistance financially or otherwise, then snip snip.
  17. A couple years ago we took a cruise in Baltic and North Seas. Many of the ports we visited had massive amounts of turbines. They are quite impressive when viewing from the water. Coming into port at Amsterdam was an incredibly beautiful sight.
  18. Agreed. I think they are awesome. Got a chance to see them on a recent trip to Chicago.
  19. What about libations? You ok in that department?
  20. From Wikipedia: "Survival of the fittest" is a phrase that originated in evolutionary theory as a way of describing the mechanism of natural selection. It is more commonly used today in other contexts, to refer to a supposed greater probability that "fit" as opposed to "unfit" individuals will survive some test. In this contexts, "fit" refers to "most well adapted to the current environment," which differs from common notions of the binary 'fit' and 'unfit.' Herbert Spencer first used the phrase – after reading Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species – in his Principles of Biology (1864), in which he drew parallels between his own economic theories and Darwin's biological ones, writing, "This survival of the fittest, which I have here sought to express in mechanical terms, is that which Mr. Darwin has called 'natural selection', or the preservation of favoured races in the struggle for life."[1] Darwin first used Spencer's new phrase "survival of the fittest" alongside "natural selection" in the fifth edition of On the Origin of Species, published in 1869,[2][3] intending it to mean "better designed for an immediate, local environment". To summarize; the snake's going to win...................
