That Gibson Southern game was supposed to be South Warren but they pulled out. Boyle scheduled right but had the rug pulled from beneath them. Nothing they could do about the replacement team being from out of state.

Boyle County is 10 - 0 against Taylor County all time. The closest game was the first game in 1995 (17-7). Most games in the series have been lopsided scores, including 35-0 in 1996, 70-0 in 2003, 76-6 in 2004, 49-0 in 2005, 57-0 in 2011, and 53-0 in 2012. All told, 5 of the 10 have resulted in shutouts while 4 have resulted in Taylor scoring 6 or 7 points. The only time they scored more than 7 points was in 2006 when Boyle beat them 68-26. I see more of the same Friday night. Running Clock.

Man, the officiating in this game was atrocious.

I think that is a moot point.

Danville pretty much owned the series through 1998, going 29-7-1. A lot of the games were lopsided wins, the worst being in 1998 (60-7). Starting in 1999 Boyle started to have the upper hand in the series. Winning 28-3 that year and going on to win their first state championship, the Rebels are 16-6 against the Ads starting that year. The most lopsided win coming in 2019 (59-0). The teams have played 59 times, starting the series in 1965 with a 0-0 tie on Centre College’s field. The Ads still hold the all-time series lead 35-23-1. 2020 and 2021 the games were cancelled due to reported Covid issues at Danville. Boyle won last years renewal 41-7.

I have not seen Pikeville, but have seen LCA. They are for real. Conditioning cost them as much as anything in the Boyle game. Some of their players were spent in the second half and several went down with cramps. Still very tough. Good size and many athletes. I really think they bounce back and beat Pikeville by two touchdowns.
