The (2-1) Broncos from Frederick Douglass travel to Corbin to take on the (3-0) Redhounds. This game puts the #2 ranked team in 6A up against the #2 team in 4A. The kickoff is set for 8:00pm. It is the first game at Corbin with their new turf. Corbin has had three pretty easy games so far with wins over Hughes (OH), Lexington Catholic, and Pulaski Co. The Broncos had a rough opening game up at the pro football hall of fame in a 45-6 loss to Ohio power Archbishop Hoban. The Broncos bounced back from that win a good road win at Trinity and another easy win over a Fayette Co. school. In looking at both teams it seems their defense is both teams calling cards and will be interesting to see which offense can make something happen. Looking forward to this one.

  • I’m going against the grain and picking Corbin at home.

  • This one should turn out to be a good one. In my opinion, 2 of the top 4 teams in the state playing.

Game will be out of reach by 3rd quarter. 1st quarter there will be some adjusting to noise/atmosphere and whatever schemes the Redhounds run. 2nd qtr and 3rd qtr, Broncos settle in and things will qu

Frederick Douglass too much for Corbin. But I do think it will be more a defensive game.

All eyes will be on this one.

First things first... Does Corbin have any starters out ? Are they 100%? Will Douglass be playing them at full strength?

I wonder if Douglass will be able to run the ball on Corbin?

Pulaski had some success on the ground averaging 4.4 yards per carry primarily running inside which allowed them to avoid the twins, so I think Douglass with a better line and RB should be able to run the ball with success.

I’m gonna say Freddie D by 3 touchdowns. The new kids in town are game changers. But it will take more than 2 to stop FD.   They have a few D1 players that will line up across from them.  Also they have a Michigan commit in the secondary.

I disagree with the group so far I think Corbin gives them all they want however I do believe FD will ultimately win the game.

Douglass has WAY too many athletes for Corbin to keep up. Broncos by three scores.

It’s at Corbin so you have to take that into account. Anywhere other than Corbin and I think Douglas gets a 3 TD relatively early. Douglas this year is tested differently than they were allowed in the past.

I honestly don't know much about Frederick Douglass this year. I know what I hear. But I haven't seen them in person to know actually how good they are. But Corbin has Franklin West that they can plug in the center of the defense and honestly if they do that, Corbin will be hard to run against. But if Douglass can spread out the Corbin defense and put the secondary in play making situtations then Douglass may open it up, but alot is unclear because Corbin doesn't play West on defense alot and that is a big question mark and will affect the outcome of this game. If I was Corbin, I would spread out FD and try to beat them with the passing game, I don't see many teams running on FD. Lots of unknowns but one thing for sure, both teams has plenty of playmakers and FD has already proven they can go into hostile territory and bring out a win...Ask Trinity.

I don’t see Corbin hanging with Douglas for the entire game. While Corbin will have success at times slowing down Douglas and keeping things interesting for a while in the end Douglas with prove to be to much an run away with the game late in the 3rd/4th quarter. I like the score to remain low for most of the game before things fall apart and separation is gained.

Corbin 14

Douglas 35

I’m going against the grain and picking Corbin at home.
