Titanic Struggle In The Cards For Collins

Records: Both are 4-1

BGP Rankings: Scott County (#4 in 5A)

Week 5 Results: Collins beat Fairdale | Scott County beat MadisonCentral

Series History: First ever meeting

Back to business: The Cards were in cruise control before getting t-boned by Boyle County. They walked away from the wreckage and rolled Madison Central last week. Despite the optics of the Boyle loss, Scott County should still be viewed as a major factor in its class. They no longer have to deal with Douglass, but there's greater depth in the district, beginning with a Collins squad that's starting to make some noise.

Runs in the family: Kade Goodin took the baton from brother Kenyon and has played at a level beyond what his freshman status would suggest. The frosh quarterback has accounted for over 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns through five weeks, leading Collins to wins in its last four games since dropping the season opener.

Scott County wins this game by a couple scores. But keep an eye on Kade Goodin. Kid is the future. Legit D1 prospect.

Collins better be able to play very physical defense or it could get ugly.
