I wasn't there and I have no idea what happened, but I do know Coaches from Lawrence Co. they do have good discipline within their program. Sometimes things happen. I do hope this doesn't take away from the great season they had!

WOW! I cannot understand why so many people are beating up Coach Matney. He has done very well at Central, unfortunately everyone has a rebuilding year from time to time, and that is what the Eagles are experiencing right now. Central will be back, mark my words.

One thing is for sure, Perry Central definately has to be considered a favorite to take that district this year.

I don't doubt what you say, perhaps I should have phrased my response differently. Whoever is in charge of the school should take a strong look at the leadership of it. When you lose that many games, it goes farther than the coach.

I agree, but perhaps not in the way you might think.... Everyone wants to blame the coach, but when you lose like that, you need new leadership, at the top..... The commanding general needs to make a change..... Not get rid of the coach.

Central is definately a top team, but you have to consider, they graduated a lot of kids from last year and the Bobcats returned a lot of players. I would most definately have them projected as the pre-season #1. It doesn't really matter though, championships are not won in the pre-season.

Fanatic, can you give us some breakdowns of the 3 teams? I am interested in the number of players, what the offenses and defenses looked like, key players, things like that.

The mid-80's were their best teams. The mid 90's teams didn't play the same competition..........

This is false, the law is very specific on hirings. The building principal, afterion with consultation with the SBDM Council shall make a recommendation to the superintendent who then in turn completes the hiring process. The superintendent MUST accept the building principal's recommendation.
