Seriously are there any Elliott County teams out there that are that small and that good. I have not heard of them or maybe their fans aren't as vocal as Elliott's is (sorry correct that were).:idunno:

They still have one of the best juniors in the state in Timmy Knipp. Some are just born to criticize.

I agree 100% Knipp is one of the top Juniors in the state. However in closing Elliott's 2008-09 team was 32-3. This years team has already lost 4 games with a weaker schedule than last years.

How many wins do they have this season? I am going to guess and say 3-4.

Only 10 wins to go with those 4 losses. Sounds like they are really struggling, I hope they can turn things around before it is too late.

Elliott County fans have dispersed because most of them was band wagoners from all over the tri-state area and state. Most people watched them play one or two times and decided that they would become Elliott County followers. I think that it is funny that people don't give enough credit to Elliott County basketball team of the present. This whole thread started on the notion that Elliott has fallen off their rein and disappeared from the earth due to the graduation of such a great class (which is the case to most). But if you haven't noticed Elliott has the top scorer in the state, a great little point guard, and the best true big man in the 16th region IMO with a good surrounding cast of a couple of players. I think that it says more volume for this team to be doing what they are doing with the loss of so many once in a decade players, rather than just fallen off the earth. If you come to a game to Sandy Hook it is still a very hostile environment with the same faces in the crowd and a packed house every night. Many people outside the program threw fuel on the fire last year with the team they thought was one of the greatest they have ever seen (wish was no different for me either). If I was a young man and played on Elliott's team last year and didn't get to play probably 20 minutes the whole season and come into this year with what people think is a rebuilding year; I would probably struggle. But these kids have done the opposite with only one player playing a substantial amount of playing time last year and really getting experience and go 10-4 to start the season. They will compete this year in the Region and will be one of the favorites if not the favorite before the season is over. My hats goes off to these kids because they are still pushing through and continuing the success of Elliott County basketball when so many have left them, outside the program to perish.

I'm still a fan and always will be. Just been working a lot more this year and haven't had the time to follow the boys like last year.

Elliott County is sitting at 10-4 on the season and they are improving each game. They aren't the same team they've had the past 3-4 seasons, obviously, but they aren't a joke, either. They will be right there with a shot at Rupp Arena again.

The bait hasn't really been out there for us to take a bite of. Threads like this may wake the voices a bit though. Go Elliott!
