Really trying to rebuild some desire and pride in Bourbon. Not really going after the big 5 to get them on the schedule just yet. We need to keep things in perspective, 5 wins in 6 years where 3 of them were in the last year. Bourbon has small hurdles to overcome. Sorry we don't impress you enough to consider us a decent team(which is what we are).

 

One question: Do you consider Grant Co. good? To me, a decent 5A team, not as strong as I expected but the things I did like about the Braves- Desire, Heart and never giving up.

Thanks for the compliment on the braves, they work hard, for Grant they have 10 new faces on defense and 9 on defense this year from a good class that graduated last year. They start 3 freshman and several sophomores. Grant has great senior leadership from the 8 seniors they have out of the 70 they dress at home. Bourbon is just like Grant was five years ago when Davis arrived. Grant had never had a winning season until 2 years ago and went back to back winning seasons before going into this year. Bourbon has some good ball players, Barnes is the real deal, he can play. Build a few wins and get more people involved and better days can be ahead for Bourbon. It was a good hard fought contest by both teams. Penalties hurt Bourbon all night and a couple of turnovers in the red zone by Grant hurt them as well. Huge goal line stand by Grant on 4th and goal on the 1 yard line. One thing I leared a long time ago, if I would have listened to the people on BGP I would have been in big trouble. Bourbon will be fine, big game this coming week for them and Grant. Good luck to both teams this coming week.

It shows the leadership from the seniors on the field. Going out on a limb here but that is a problem at Bourbon. We have 1 for sure senior with his head on straight and wanting to lead. I will leave it at that. Again Congrats Grant and good luck with the rest of the season.:thumb:

They played 3 youth games on it last Sunday. It was an absolute disaster by the end of the day. I wondered why they didn't cancel the youth games that day. Maybe it was already too far gone.

Just to let you know that the field was done in on Friday night. They have cancelled the youth games this week and have a company coming out this week to work on it to try to get it ready for their next home game on Oct. 16th versus Oldham Co.

I'm really surprised they didn't use his legs more there at the end. They seemed content to try to use his arm more to win the game. IMO, that helped out Grant County. Braves gave up some big runs to the young man earlier in the game.

Bourbon had way too many plenties (flagged 3 times inside the 10 that cost several points) and 4turnovers to win. BC had twice the yardage but not enough points. The one that matters.
