Ram Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 (edited) What does Betsy Layne need to do to improve in 2009? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive. Edited March 19, 2009 by Ram
betsylayne_fanatic Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 The bobcats should do better this year. They lost 4 guys on defense but their whole offense will be back. They have 25 in the weightroom and the kids are really working hard. This number is up 10 kids from last year at this time with 8th graders still playing aau, track and baseball going on. This could be another history making season.
MSU-70 Posted March 22, 2009 Posted March 22, 2009 I hope they are changing things around there.....I know they have been the door mat of Kentucky high school football for a while. Good Luck next year.
betsylayne_fanatic Posted March 23, 2009 Posted March 23, 2009 The door mat days are over. If they would have been healthy at the end of the season they could have easily won the last two regular season games. They are also so young. The grade school program has been established for a couple of years now.

Good Luck next year. You can say about alot of teams in the state but I believe the Bobcats can do some great things in the next few years. I think the main thing is have a winning season and get in the post season two years in a row. They are in class A and in a distict that they do that now. Good luck to the Bobcats this fall. Blackshirts Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 I hope they can build on last year's playoff team and make a bigger run this year.
betsylayne_fanatic Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 The bobcats return their whole offense, and lose 3 on defense. But still a very young team.
gchs_uk9 Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 The bobcats return their whole offense, and lose 3 on defense. But still a very young team. Does Dylan Maldonado return this season? According to the stats he ran for 1,130 yards last season, averaging around 9 yards per carry. That's pretty impressive.
betsylayne_fanatic Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Yeah, he was just a sophomore. Also the other running back, Casey Adkins also a sophomore is coming back he was on pace to get a 1,000 yards also before an season ending injury. Their quarterback Nathan Martin is also coming back. This season looks really good if they stay healthy.

Allen Central seems to be getting better. Phelps and South Floyd seem to be stuck at the bottom, however. So can Betsy Layne move into the top two or are they still below a couple teams?
betsylayne_fanatic Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Pikeville is putting in a very difficult offense, so they will be learning. Paintsville lost their talented quarterback, so anything is possible there. Allen Central plays Betsy Layne in week 9. If AC uses the horses all season the bobcats can surprise them. Phelps is a good team but really young. South Floyd will be better, but really really young. The bobcats could be the most surprising team in the district if they stay healthy and work hard.

So a playoff berth is very likely, and a home playoff game is a "best-case scenario" type situation. Sounds good!
betsylayne_fanatic Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Their working hard and would love to make the playoffs two years in a row.
