St.Henry played a solid game. Lloyd's backcourt pressure that bothered the Crusaders in their first meeting didn't materialize tonight. Goetz with another big night. He does so much for St.Henry. Wallenhorst with an efficient night. Berling played well in the first half and Maley hit a couple big 3's. For Lloyd, it's hard seeing kids play their last game. Donovan played well with a lot of assists finding Juett for some easy layups. Hamilton didn't start and don't remember him getting a shot off when he was in. Played very little in the second half. Lloyd played hard and have some nice shooters. They should be pretty good next year.

Excellent synopsis. Looks like you have all the favorites winning every game of the districts. Gotta think there will be an upset (or 2) in there somewhere. Thanks for all your work.

Close game. St.Henry led for most of the game but could never pull away. Holy Cross made shots down the stretch to take the win. L Schrand with a big basket from the corner toward the end. I've thought about this statement from you above for a bit and I am probably in the minority but I don't agree. Sure its tough, but no tougher than other public schools. You set rules and paramaters of how you want your program run. If there is a mess then it is because you like it that way and put up with it.

Senior night for the Raiders. Goetz with 27 Wallenhorst with 12 for the Crusaders. I'm not sure who led Ryle, not sure they had anyone in double figures, pretty balanced. Ryle with a boat load of turnovers.

Whats the rule if a player has blood/scratch on him? Does he automatically have to leave the game or is there a "grace" period that the trainer on site can put a bandaid on him?

Pretty even game by these 2 teams. St.Henry was up at the half with Goetz sitting 7 minutes of the second qtr with foul trouble. For St.Henry, Goetz had 19,Wallenhorst 13? Maley 12? Walton team played well. They have a nice group of players. Decent size. Clinkenbeard played strong with 19. Hit a few deep 3's and went to the basket strong. Only a soph. Fellow soph Lay had a dozen? Sullivan hit a big 3 from the corner late in the game and hit his foul shots down the stretch. Also thought Anderson played well. Nice to see a lot of familiar faces and congrats to the Bearcats on the W. Good luck the rest of the season.

Thats what happened. Just can't remember ever seeing it with a made basket.

Most points scored by the Crusaders since 2002 is what i could find. I think someone said in another thread that Newports defense leaves a lot to be desired. Hollis and Mullins were on the bench in warmups. Covington didn't start but played a bit. Maley was hot in the first half for St.Henry making 5 3's. I would guess that Goetz had 25ish again. Hanover was there to watch him again. Wallenhorst with a nice game and was very efficient. Don't think I'd seen it before…he had a breakaway and made a layup with an intentional foul. Shot 2 foul shots. I couldn't remember seeing that before. Snapp and Davis played well for the Wildcats.

Seriously, why wouldn't you start your seniors on senior night. Give them their start, see how it goes and then put in your normal rotation. They evidentially were good enough to make the team, put in time at practice etc.... Unless they were being withheld for discipline reasons or academics or something. Its high school basketball people for heavens sake.

You say that cov cath has the 2 seed wrapped up in the 35th district. Doesn't Beechwood play Holy Cross in the future and a potential 3 way tie for the 1 seed? Also, I thought I remember last year the younger Schrand hitting like 6 3's against south Oldham in a game. I could be wrong on both. I'd maybe probably have Cooper at 2 and NCC at 3 but that is splitting hairs.

With the win St.Henry wraps up the 2 seed in the district and gets Lloyd the 3 seed in the districts (which are at Lloyd). Lloyd has a chance to tie it on a 3 at the end but just misses. St.Henry was up by 12 or so late in the 4th but couldn't put them away. Hanover and Mt.St. Joe there checking out Goetz who had another good game.
