  1. They certainly were on that night. I'm not debating that my guy. If football was just about the athletes on the field, we would call it a track meet.
  2. Yes. SK didn't play great, but Dixie managed to play worse. How many of those turnovers and short fields did Dixie actually capitalize on? Very few. Not to the mention penalties that negated big plays and dropped passes that were wide open. I'd say outside of Aba Selm, Dixie's players were just as athletic or more than SK's but they did not play a good game and that's how SK came away with the win.
  3. I felt like Dixie gave away that game last week. Does that seem to be the case again this week?
  4. Maybe so, but the school would be liable if something happened and they didn't take steps to provide a safe atmosphere.
  5. Is it a little strange that Garrard is hosting this bowl and didn't take the nightcap? I thought most bowl hosts took the second game, or am I mistaken in that? For what it's worth, there is no doubt that this is the better game of the two.
  6. That seems petty. If that's true, I hope he puts up 800 yards of offense on them by himself.
  7. Reports are going around that Wander Franco is being investigated for an inappropriate relationship with a minor in the D.R. The Rays placed Wander on the restricted list while this is being investigated. If this is true, I'm wondering what kind of prison term he may serve and what kind of suspension MLB may place on the young superstar.
  8. Easily? There are some heavy hitters at the top of 4A. What position do those transfers play?
  9. Just playing Devil's Advocate, wouldn't it also be difficult to anticipate what LC could do in that first game? There's no "real" tape on them yet, and that could be an advantage for the Knights.
  10. Scott has had a lot of adversity to overcome this off-season. I'm not sure they can overcome that in time for this game.
  11. Historically, both of the Jessamines seem to be underwhelming relative to their talent level and resources. Casey lost a lot from last year, both coaching staff and player personnel. So, it's hard to get a read on what Casey may be this year. I feel like Lincoln will be miles ahead of Casey on August 18. That gap may have closed by November, but for week 1 this game might be over quick. Lincoln 45 Casey 14
  12. I've been asking myself that all week!
  13. No one explicitly said that. But, "nothing would surprise me" was said, and I would find a running clock to be surprising. The consensus is that these teams are fairly evenly matched and if one team just demolished the other, that would completely change the narrative of 6A this season. We're talking about HS football, I'm not sure any other level of football has more variability than HS. For example, how many times do we see a blowout in the Conference Championship of pro ball? Almost never. How many times do we see a blowout in the Semifinals of HS playoffs? Far more often. There have been plenty of HS games where I thought one team had a chance to win, but instead lost 50-6. So, a running clock is possible just because it's HS football, but I can't imagine that happening in this game.
  14. I think a blowout in either direction would be a surprise. I think Station will win, but I could see Trinity winning too. I just can't really imagine a running clock for either team.
  15. I originally thought so too, but I think this team is much better than the team they played from IN last year. I still think they'll win, but I wouldn't expect to see the JV at the start of the 3rd quarter. And to your point, yes, Tavey is a must see for anyone who gets the chance.
  16. Bryan Station Woodford County LCA Hoban Raceland
  17. Have they been able to practice all summer?
  18. 2024 Mr. Football And also a fantastic kid like @WestDanvillesaid.
  19. Finishing in the top 2 of RPI will be a huge storyline in 4A this year. I'm not sure there is a huge gap between 1-4, but getting to host the Semifinals will be an advantage.
  20. I'm not trying to be too dramatic or fatalistic here, but if FD wins this game or even keeps it close you could probably send the 6A trophy to Lexington the very next day. I don't know that there is any other team in KY who could be competitive in this game. Like the @TheDeucesaid, it's nice to see FD finally getting the chance to schedule opponents like this, they've earned it. Now the next step is to go out and win a few of these games.
  21. Great minds think alike. "Not expected to play tonight," did anyone seriously think he would see the field this preseason?
  22. NFL.com is reporting that Burrow was running and throwing on the field today with no sleeve on his calf.
  23. I mean if we want to go back a few years then a lot of teams have lost a lot of talent, that's not exclusive to Garrard. Most of those kids haven't played for Garrard in 2-3 years. Sulla was the only one who played in a majority of the games last year. Garrard is returning their top two runners, QB, top four or five tacklers, either 3/5 or 4/5 of their starting O-Line, and a solid coaching staff. I would say those facts are more relevant to this game than the athletes from a couple of years ago.
  24. A ton? Sullah (OL/DL) was the best player they lost this past year. They return most of their starters on both sides of the ball, and I'm not even sure Sullah was their best player last year. I would give that honor to RB Malachi Simmons, he'll be a junior this year.
  25. Garrard has a pretty solid 1-2 punch at RB with Peak being the speed threat and Simmons being the bruiser. Garrard also has a solid coaching staff and is fundamentally sound on defense.
