I think this narrative of Dixie being undisciplined is a little overdone. From what I can remember, last night there was only 2-5 penalties on Dixie. Granted, one came at a very bad time and gave Beechwood a second chance that they capitalized on, but I didn't leave last night thinking that it was their inability to play disciplined football that cost them the game. I thought it had more to do with Beechwood's WRs making great catches and taking advantage of every opportunity they had.

The Oxford Dictionary's second definition for flat is "lacking interest or emotion, dull and lifeless." I don't know how else you could have described Beechwood when they were down 27-14. That's not to say that they can't recover that emotion and interest later, they definitely did in the second half. So "flat" seems like a reasonable word to retain in our vocabulary.

As far as RPI goes, Boyle does a great job of playing tough teams throughout the year that one weak game against Danville doesn't have much of an effect. LCA, Scott County, Lex Cath, and Freddy D are more than enough for the Rebel's RPI. Now as far as fielding a competitive rivalry game? That's been gone for a few years now and doesn't look like it will be competitive again for another decade plus.

The defense isn't the problem. That's two weeks in a row they've given up 14 or less.

Is that 11 yards on 19 rushes or (-11) on 19 rushes? Either way, it's hard to believe that's where this rivalry is at now.

Muffed punt return about ruined Dixie. Dixie has it about 40 yards to go with 7 seconds.

Where is Garrard's offense this year?

Dixie had them stopped on that first drive and let them score on a 4th and 10. The other TD they gave up looked like a blown coverage. Dixie has definitely turned it on since being down 14. Beechwood really needs to come out here and put together some points to open the 2nd half.

More missed tackles for Beechwood. Dixie scores another TD. Beechwood has coaches dancing on the sideline during timeouts and the players are flat as can be. 27-14 Dixie, 47.0 seconds left til the half.

I won't pretend to be an expert on Dixie's recent years, but this team looks very average to me. They've been talked up a lot on this site this summer, and I just don't see it. As I typed that out, Dixie broke a 90ish yard TD so maybe just ignore me 😂
