  1. We've always been a good 2nd half team. In games and the season lol.
  2. Devil's Advocate: The Steelers played most of their starters in all of their preseason games and they are getting beat 20-0 right now. It doesn't seem like the preseason helps anyone. Let's just cancel it and start the season 3 weeks earlier!
  3. What was that old Spurrier line about UK? "They've got a good punter." I'm not even sure he's had a good game, but definitely a lot of experience.
  4. Very unimpressed with him so far. Trent Taylor seemed miles ahead of him.
  5. Whoops. Nevermind, thought you were talking about the Browns punt.
  6. Doesn't matter when the punt returner doesn't know how to run north/south.
  7. Kenny Pickett 5/8 with 9 yards of passing...looks like all that off-season hype may have been a little much.
  8. I think even diehards would admit that this run of dominance has been a little surprising.
  9. Definitely the most accurate HS passer I've ever seen, especially considering how far down the field he is willing to throw and the tight windows he puts it in.
  10. I want to know what teams have surprised people the most so far in this season. It could be teams that have under or over achieved this year. I'll start and stick to my neck of the woods. Boyle County has been thoroughly dominant this year, especially on the offensive side of the ball. They look the part of the best team in the state and a real threat to go 15-0 with an unbelievably tough schedule. True Boyle County natives may later consider this team as one of the best Rebel groups of all time. On a less positive note, Garrard County being 0-4 in Spencer Crutchfield's second season has been a real disappointment. The Golden Lions can't seem to put a full game together and get a much needed win. The new district looked to do them a big favor, but they have not looked the part so far in this 2023 campaign. What other teams out there have been surprising to you all?
  11. Those stats are unreal. Looks like Boyle is moving the ball up and down the field with ease.
  12. These contracts are too complicated to decide based strictly off total value and the length. The Bengals could structure a signing bonus, # of years, roster bonus, incentives, etc to make a compelling contract that could keep Higgins in Cincy.
  13. I expected more out of the Lions' pass rush.
  14. More often than not he is blitzing out of a LB position and getting good pressure. I think teams struggle to contain him because he comes from different spots and doesn't hit the same place on the O-Line over and over again. Dixie's defense is very much feast or famine, but they are basically successful every time Rice gets pressure on the QB
  15. The Jaguars at 13-4 and the top seed is a hot take for sure. There's no legit weapons on offense outside of the QB (and he ain't Mahomes or Burrow) and the defense can't be trusted to carry them to victories consistently.
  16. Chiefs are sneaky hurt right now, plus Chris Jones still looks like he won't be playing per his contract situation. I think it's more likely that this game is down to the wire as opposed to a Chiefs rout.
  17. Is he a D1 athlete? I saw him last year at Danville and I thought so, but I don't follow college recruiting super close. If he is, does he project more as a WR or RB?
  18. Rice is a stud. I've seen Dixie twice this year and I'm leaving each game saying that he should be more involved in the offense. I would think that you want to get your best athletes on the field.
  19. More than 30 is a lot, especially against a great defense like Boyle. That's basically 5 TD drives. How many drives does each team get in a typical HS game? 7-12? I just can't see them driving down the field that often against this defense, unless they are gifted seriously good field position from special teams and turnovers. Scott County hasn't played anyone tough this year so far. The teams they have played own a combined record of 3-6. The level of competition is about to get dramatically turned up. Speaking of scout teams being unable to adequately prepare for a game, there's no team in the state (maybe Freddy D) that can properly simulate the level of athleticism that Boyle has.
  20. Freddy D at the end of regular season is going to be a tough game and Corbin is likely waiting for them at Kroger Field. So it's possible that they lose one of those. I don't think they will, but it wouldn't be a total shocker either.
  21. I can't imagine Burrow not playing in this game. 24-14 Bengals
  22. Boyle has always done very well against teams that are one dimensional. I know Scott County can throw it, but they definitely lean on their rushing attacking more. I think Boyle takes this one and it isn't particularly competitive. Boyle 40 Scott County 20
  23. I just wonder what compels a team like Warren to travel to Versailles and play this game. This isn't nationally known program like Trinity or a perennial powerhouse like Boyle or Freddy D. It has to be incredibly expensive to travel this far.
  24. I don't know if they will turn, Spencer Crutchfield is one of their own. I think he has a lot of leeway in that community.
