Trinity will host Bryan Station to open the season and will be looking to avenge a 10-7 loss to Bryan Station last season in the 6A playoffs. Bryan Station would like to make it two wins in a row against the Shamrocks.

Trinity will be replacing Andrew Allen at QB who was also the leading rusher for Trinity. They also return RB Clinton Sansbury( 520 yds, 4 tds) and RB Lucas Sasser (394 yds, 2 tds), and RB/WR Jeremiah Lynn (367 yds, 5 tds)  returns at WR. LB Brady McEnaney (73 tkls) returns to lead the defense along with 7 other starters from last year. DB Gabe Mingus (60 tkls), DB Lincoln Mitchell (42 tkls), and S Robert Morrow (56 tkls)are other guys on defense to watch.

Bryan Station returns QB Trenton Cutwright (1982 yds, 17 tds). They return RB Benit Bayubahe (749 yds, 10 tds) and bring in RB transfer Kalen Washington (1001 yds, 16 tds) from George Rogers Clark. WR JT Haskins (758 yds, 8 tds) returns. The defense returns several starters and will be led by LB Jason Hocker (90 tkls), DE Jahvon Frazier (54 tkls), Colton Essenback (47 tkls) and DB JT Haskins (46 tkls).

This is a great game to open the season in 6A. Two of the top teams with the winner being a serious contender for the 6A championship. This could be another low scoring game with both teams having good defenses. Who wins?

@coachhawk and company kickoff off a high potential season with a 21-10 road win.

  • See, that is the difference between you and me, I am a true Station fan and you are something else. ?

JT Haskins for Bryan Station is also rated a 3 star recruit and one of the top ten players in the state for the 2024 class according to 247 sports composite ratings.

Jay Cobb is coaching for his job this year, IMO. A loss to Bryan Station at home would be a horrific start in that regard.

Trinity will need to lean on their defense until the offense finds it's way. I think Trinity gets it done in a relatively low scoring affair.

Great game to start things off.  As @Hardin County Preps said, I don't see Trinity losing a home season opener.

Rocks by 6

GREAT Game here!  More like a semi-final than opening week.

I think Trinity probably should win this game, but Station has 11 D1 guys.  That's alot.

I'm going Defenders 17-14 on a late dramatic FG to win in St Matthews.

Good luck Coach Hawk!

That would be something, a definite tone-setter for the season.

Why? 1st game of the season doesn't mean THAT much. We KNOW Station is for real. The polls have showed that, general consensus has showed that. I don't think either team is going to pull that deep from their playbook.

On paper, I don't see anything that is telling me that Trinity beats Station, even at home. Now, once the season plays out, and the playoffs come, philosophies will change and the weather will change. That, along with who has home field definitely changes things.

But right now, RIGHT NOW. What does Trinity bring to the table that Station doesn't? Where is the Rocks offense coming from? Station has a vet QB, a RB stable and at least one WR threat that I've seen in action.

I think Coach Cobb will be using all available playbook because if they lose to Bryan Station two years in a row the Alumni going to be fired up.

Man. That's interesting.  Considering they could play in the playoffs again, that's quite some pressure. I think they can throw the kitchen sink at Station on Friday and still lose by 10.

Again, my thoughts for this season opener only. Playoffs, I'll analyze at that time.

In general, IMO, defense comes along quicker than offense. In Game 1 I’m taking a stout defense over offense every single time.

A Station wouldn’t surprise me. A multi-score Station win AT Trinity? Yeah, that would surprise me. Love It or hate it, Trinity (rightfully so) is still cream of the crop in 6A. They are going to be expected to win at home over most teams, most of the time.

Trinity on the jersey. ?‍♀️

I do love faithful of the Lexington teams beaming with confidence over recent success. It’s amusing.
