I do love faithful of the Lexington teams beaming with confidence over recent success. It’s amusing.

My same question for a number of years.

Didn't finish my thought. Why would they never play ANY Jefferson County teams?

Fayette County Public schools for a long time made them play all Fayette County schools. That is the biggest reason.

Nothing would surprise me in this game.  I think Station will be ready and they return so many good players but games like this are status quo for Trinity and all things considered I am going to take T in a close game.

I have been waiting to see if the Rocks will return to their old form. I believe this is a great first game test. I am a huge fan of the underdog here though. Give me Station in an upset!

Station-28

Trinity- 21

Same. I'm genuinely excited for this one.

I think a blowout in either direction would be a surprise. I think Station will win, but I could see Trinity winning too. I just can't really imagine a running clock for either team.

Who said anything about a running clock?

No one explicitly said that. But, "nothing would surprise me" was said, and I would find a running clock to be surprising. The consensus is that these teams are fairly evenly matched and if one team just demolished the other, that would completely change the narrative of 6A this season.

We're talking about HS football, I'm not sure any other level of football has more variability than HS. For example, how many times do we see a blowout in the Conference Championship of pro ball? Almost never. How many times do we see a blowout in the Semifinals of HS playoffs? Far more often. There have been plenty of HS games where I thought one team had a chance to win, but instead lost 50-6. So, a running clock is possible just because it's HS football, but I can't imagine that happening in this game.

We need to give whoever said "nothing would surprise me" a talking to, lol.  Seriously, nothing would surprise me with either team winning but I do expect it to be close.

Is it Friday yet?

I've been asking myself that all week!

Very interested to see how Station attacks Trinity's defense. They've got a lot to work with in terms of talent and experience. The Cutright to Haskins connection, the whole offensive line is back, and the addition of Kalen Washington to the backfield is huge for a team trying to replace the bullish Jeremiah Mundy-Lloyd.

The Rocks' defense has already been talked up as championship caliber and may be one of the best units, defense or offense, in the state. They'll have a chance to prove it in three days.

One of the most exciting parts of this game IMO is the prospect of a rematch in the playoffs.

I looked at Bryan Station stat report from Trinity game and they graduated 4 of the top 5 tacklers in that game with the one returning was the leading tackler. Trinity maybe able to score more points than last year with those guys gone.
