Looking at Trinity stat report from last years game, they graduated 2 of top 5 tacklers including leading tackler. Also number 6 tackler graduated so return 3 of top 6. This game maybe higher scoring than last year.

A little series history...

 

1971 Regular Season 

Bryan Station-6  Trinity-0 

The Defenders went on to defeat Madisonville for the Class 2A Championship, still the school's only state football title. Station only allowed 4.7 points per game that season. This was one of seven shutouts they pitched in '71.

 

1972 Regular Season 

Trinity-21  Bryan Station-14

The Shamrocks defeated Butler to win their second championship. Jim Kennedy was at the helm for their first two titles. This was his last game coaching Trinity.

 

1975 Regular Season 

Trinity-18  Bryan Station-0

In what has to be one of the more memorable climaxes in their storied rivalry, Trinity lost to Saint Xavier in the 4A playoffs when a bad snap was too tall for the punter, resulting in a recovery in the endzone for an X safety. At the time, the Rocks led 10-9 inside the final minute. The Tigers went on to win it all.

 

1976 Regular Season 

Trinity-27  Bryan Station-6

Trinity edged Henderson County for the 4A championship that season. This was Dave Moore's second of three 'ships with the green and white, and his most hard earned. 

 

1999 4A Playoffs 

Bryan Station-31  Trinity-21

This was the first playoff encounter between the two schools, a region final. Station would eventually lose to Saint Xavier by three points in the 4A finals.

 

2022 6A Playoffs 

Bryan Station-10  Trinity-7

Another region final. Trinity hadn't gone more than one season between championships this century before Station sent them packing. The Defenders lost the following week to eventual 6A champion Bullitt East. 

Received an email from Trinity today announcing the partnership with WDRB. It stated that if you have the WDRB Now app you must update it to the new WDRB+ app. I have an iPhone and when I looked my Now app had updated automatically. Now on my Apple TV I had to manually update there.  The new app is available on all the streaming devices. Thought you all might want to know early before finding out right before kickoff if you are streaming.

Was told yesterday the video feed will be shot by the students who shoot the Jumbotron footage, so be easy on them in your criticisms!!! You can feel free to criticize us on the radio/audio however you want though! Hahaha 

One way or another, this will probably be the most talked about game of opening week. I'm hoping it's because Trinity and Station are feeling generous and gift us a game for the ages. 

I think that's what we'll get, a four quarter affair decided by a few key plays to swing it late.

The biggest unknown here is Trinity's offense. If they've made great strides since last year, I think they win at home. But Station has more known quantities at the moment and I'm going with my head to sway my vote.

I'll take the Defenders by a score. I can't envision a shootout, but I expect more offense than last year. Let's say somewhere in the neighborhood of 20-14.

The stat guy keeps you guys pretty balanced. If it weren't for him, I think it would come unraveled quickly.

Based on players returning and overall experience offensively, it’s hard to go against BS. I could be wrong, either way I look for it to be close. Definitely a good game to begin the season with to see where both teams stand. Good luck to both teams!

I'll be interested in seeing how he does. Would be quite of a performance if he does really good against Trinity defense.

It is nice, the TV looks small in that picture but it is a 75inch Samsung.
