This may very well be true. I also think District 1 of Paducah Tilghman, Union County, Webster County, and Trigg County maybe the strongest from top to bottom. This was definitely the upset of the night in my book.

Definitely agree Tkinslow. IF, and that’s a big IF, Casey can play defense like they did against LaRue, I believe Casey wins by a couple of scores, but if not, it will be a shootout.

This game had all the fireworks! Casey leads the game 34-14 early in the fourth and the the Lakers roll off 21 unanswered points with only 36 seconds left in the game to make it 34-35. The Rebels have a fourth and 10 from their own 20 yard line and complete 2 screen passes to get to the Russell 29 with under 4 seconds remaining. Ethan Willoughby throws a high hail mary and Nate Goode comes down with the ball as time expires and the Rebels play spoiler to the Laker's homecoming! Ballard 21-7. Franklin County could be 1-3 after Fridays game, will that affect their mental status going forward? They aren't use to being in that position. I know the Flyers have a good coaching staff and will do everything in their power to try and keep the players focused on the big picture, but I'm just hoping the young men will respond to it. They are a very good team, but when you're not use to being in that position, it can mess with you mentally.

I believe Henderson is better than last year, but Boyle hasn't taken their foot off of the gas from last year. Boyle 42-14

I agree. It’s Glasgow and then everybody else fighting for 2nd place in the district. Taylor travels to Casey in 3 weeks and that game will start to paint a picture of how District 2 will finish. IMO Adair is the odd man out, and Hart, Taylor and Casey are playing for 2nd.

I heard this last week. I was told that it could be 4-5 games, BUT I don’t know if that is fact or not. I agree with HEARSAY, Spencer is a good team, but I am surprised that Taylor isn’t performing better. I really thought they would be a top 5 3A team this year.

Casey was up 8-0 in the first quarter with 4:23 remaining when they had a lightning delay. The delay lasted about 90 minutes. Casey would add 2 more scores after the delay and before the half to make it 24-0. Rebels would score again in the third and LaRue gets on the board with about 1 minute remaining to get on the board for the first time in the game. Casey would score in less than 2 minutes, then Larue scores in less than 3 minutes. Casey puts it in the endzone one last time with just under 6 minutes remaining in the game. This was Casey's first win ever over LaRue County.

Sounds like Casey and Rock play a similar non-district schedule. Casey plays Wayne at the end of September. Good luck to Rock!

LaRue travels to Casey this Friday. It will be interesting to see how that game turns out. Both teams put up a lot of points this week and both defenses gave up a lot of points as well.

Beechwood is still Beechwood, but Somerset is not the Somerset of 2019. They've got some talented players, but not near the level they were at a couple of years ago. Beechwood with a running clock in this game.

QB for Casey was 10/14 for 163 yards and 2 tds plus ran for 177 yards and 2 tds. He was named the MVP of the game. Casey had over 300 yards on the ground and I'm going to do some looking to see when the last time they had over 300 yards rushing. I'm guessing it's been over 2 years.

Taylor led at the half 39-36. Both teams scored on every possession. I thought it was gonna be another Lawrence County vs. Western Hills type score before it was over. Defense showed up for both teams in the second half and neither team scored in the third quarter. LaRue scores twice in the fourth and then Taylor scores with 1:24 remaining in the game. LaRue recovers the onside kick and then runs for a first down and that ends the game. LaRue may have lost Boley, but their QB last night done alot of damage. I'm interested to see his stats from that game. He threw for several yards and ran for several as well.
