This will actually be the 35th meeting between the two teams with Wayne having a 29 to 5 advantage. First meeting was 1975 with Wayne winning 30 -12. Casey has also played Adair County 35 times, but their opponent they have faced the most in 50 years is Russell County 38 times.

I knew they had, which is why I feel this will be a good game, but if we go by rankings, like them or not, it will be viewed as an upset IMO. That district is definitely top heavy.

District 8 has 3 really good teams in it. This game should be a good one. I am thinking somewhat of an upset with N. Laurel winning in a close one 28-27

It very well could be. I think each week we will find out more about this very thing. Hart plays Taylor and Adair travels to Glasgow this week. That should continue to paint the picture of how the district will finish.

Did Wayne County's QB get hurt? I noticed that a backup was playing QB in the 3rd quarter.

In all fairness to Taylor County, they were without Peyton Smith and Hayes Johnson. Coach Stonebraker had a good game plan for the Rebels. Casey was up 26-12 at the half and Ethan Willoughby was 10/15 for 229 yards and 3 TDs in that half. The Rebels only threw it 2 times the second half and could have taken advantage of the secondary, but instead Casey controlled the clock and kept it on the ground for the second half. Rebels have another tough opponent next Friday as Wayne County comes to town.

Happy for Warren Central and their players! They deserve having some success. It's tough to keep showing up week after week without a win for so long, but they did, and now they are starting to be rewarded for it! Congratulations fellas!

The Rebels took the opening kickoff and was inside the Adair 15 when the Indians caused a fumble and they recovered. Adair marches down the field and scores. Next possession, Rebels were again moving the ball and then a tipped pass lands in the hands of an Adair defender and he takes it to the house for a 60 yard pick 6. The next series, an Adair defender strips the QB on a pass rush but Casey recovers with a sizable loss. Casey punts and Adair gets a hand on it and the punt goes 3 yards. Adair scores on that possession to make it 21-0. Everything was going right for Adair and everything was going wrong for Casey County early on.

I thought the baseball coach resigned a couple of weeks ago. Football definitely pays for a lot of other sports programs in the school

I agree. LaRue beats Taylor County, Then loses to Casey County by 30, and then turns around and beats Rockcastle County by 24. Seems like they may be struggling to be consistent from week to week.

I was told by a mutual friend of mine and Coach Clevenger's that Danville would be the only job he would take. I agree with Danville Fan's post, I think Peach is a good coach, but he walked into a hornet's nest. Anderson County sure hasn't been the same since he was let go there.

I definitely think the rest of 3A is chasing CAL for sure.
