Warren Central 30 Allen County-Scottsville 22

Good for those kids. It has been a long time coming!

According to the Scottsville radio call, the Dragons had several good passing plays. They are no longer an automatic win for anybody in this district.

Omari Glover is just a stud athlete. He’s raw as a football player but a lot of their offense the last two years has been throw it up and let him go get it. He hauled in a lot of big plays for them tonight.  Just a huge, huge win for Central. They can’t take anything for granted, of course, but honestly they should beat Russell County next week and that’d just about clinch the playoff berth.

I’m not certain what happened to Allen County-Scottsville in this one. They had some things where they just shot themselves in the foot. Some untimely turnovers, and they didn’t get into an offensive flow in the second half at all. They’re better than this but there’s no sugarcoating that this was a devastating loss for them. I don’t see them having any shot at Warren East, which makes their game with Franklin-Simpson next week a must win if they want any shot at a home playoff game.

After ACS had a competitive game against Logan to open the season, I thought they would be formidable. I don't know that I would say most but a strong handful had them winning the district again this season including media outlets who released their preseason district picks.

That being said, what a win for Warren Central.

Way to go Dragons!  @DragonFire, is a 500 season possible?

Possible, sure. They will still have to win a game that they’re not expected to. Right now I feel like they should beat Russell County and Thomas Nelson. Warren East is a certain loss as is Green County, and I’d be pretty stunned if they hung with Franklin-Simpson. That leaves Marshall County, which to me is a coin flip. So I’m thinking 4-6 or 5-5 at this point, which would be an incredible step.

I can’t figure Allen out, they played pretty competitively with Logan and Greenwood but then lose this game. Very hard to predict which team will show up.

Happy for Warren Central and their players!  They deserve having some success.  It's tough to keep showing up week after week without a win for so long, but they did, and now they are starting to be rewarded for it!  Congratulations fellas!
