Scotties Looking For A Bounce Back Win, Try To Avoid Becoming Gator Bait

Records: Glasgow (4-1) | Greenwood (4-1)

BGP Ranking: Glasgow (#9 in 3A)

Series History: Greenwood leads 2-1 dating back to 1998

Table Setter: Thought by many to be one 3A's top contenders, Glasgow stubbed its toe against unheralded Hart County last week. No need to write the Scotties off at this point, but they have work to do to repair their prior standing in the class, especially with CAL pulling away from the pack. Getting back on track starts with shoring up a defense that allowed more points last week than it had the rest of the season, combined. The physically imposing Keiran Stockton has been indefensible of late, running for over 600 yards and nine touchdowns in the last three weeks. Gang tackling is key against a back with his measurables. He'll provide the Greenwood defense something to chew on. As great as Stockton is, Glasgow may need to establish a complimentary threat through the air to pull this one out. Running into the teeth of a Gators' defense that's expecting it won't get you far.

The Gators took another step toward respectability in 5A last week with a gritty win over previously unbeaten Logan County. As is always the case for Greenwood, the weeks are building to the games that will largely define their season: Bowling Green and South Warren. A win over the Scotties alone won't convince anyone that they'll beat the titans of their district, but it means continued momentum and confidence.

Glasgow beat the Gators last year, 37-16.

Greenwood has played a much tougher schedule. The one good team Glasgow has played beat them. I see Greenwood as a clear favorite in this game.

I’m also going with Greenwood 35-21.

I think Greenwood flips the table on last year and wins with a similar score....it was 35-16 last year, I say the Gators win it 35-14 this year.

I think the team that scores 21 points wins this game.

Glasgow had been incredible against the run till last week. But I’m going with the Scotties they beat up on Greenwood pretty good last year and it doesn’t appear like the teams have changed that much. I feel like Hart Co surprised Glasgow with some speed they didn’t know they had. Greenwood doesn’t have a ton of speed I feel like they just line up and try to run it down your throat which I feel like is one of Glasgow’s strengths. All this said I’m going with the Scotties in a close one 27-20.

I could see that.  That fits my "whoever scores 21" order.  Plus, Glasgow is grouchy, I'm sure.  Watch that #16 Lofton Howard and let me know what you think.  I just really like his physical brand of play.
