Mercer County 17 Danville 14

Featured Replies

Mercer hits a FG at the buzzer to win it. Danville....I don't know what to say. You play the Freshman Qb last week against Boyle County then you bench him this game, you talking about killing a kids confidence. I was sitting by his mom and she said he will not be playing at Danville next year. I don't know if it was anger but that came out of her mouth. Mercer put 9 men in the box and pretty much shut the run down because Danville don't have a QB at all.  Mercer's coaching staff out coached Danville. Angry Danville fans is all I can say from what I was hearing in the stands.

Chalk me up as one of those angry fans!  That's all I want to say right now other than congrats to Mercer on a good, smart game plan and win.

Sounded like a great game! I saw the video of the game winning kick. That’s a tough kick knowing everyone is watching. Great kick.

Congrats Mercer! Until Danville finds a way to not be one dimensional expect to see 8-9 in the box moving forward.

Is it time to start the “Bring back Clevenger” chant if you are a Danville fan?

They was saying that tonight! A lot of angry fans. From what I was hearing if Danville dont make a coaching change you will see a few Danville kids transfer out next year.

Just a guess, but I think some changes are going to take place this offseason.  All of the people involved in the Clevenger debacle are gone at this point from the super to the principal to a leadership shakeup in the athletic department.  Something has to give.

I heard the A.D. at Danville resigned a couple of weeks ago?  Is that true?  That shocked me knowing she has worked there for over 20 years.

Not sure about the specifics but I saw their press release that C.J. Lynn, an alum and former Garrard County baseball coach, was hired as interim AD.

I can see this happening also. I don't see this Coaching Staff being around next year. Danville don't even look the same. Walking around with helmets off, taking a knee on the sidelines during the game, walking on  the field after halftime, just not a lot of excitement at Danville.  Ads need to make a change before it gets uglier with kids moving out.
