Henderson County makes the long trek to Rebel Stadium Friday night for a matchup between teams ranked in the top 10 of their respective classes. Henderson County enters the game at 2-0 They defeated Christian County 43-14 in their last outing. Boyle comes in with a 3-0 record fresh off of a 41-7 win over crosstown rival, Danville. In their first ever meeting last year Boyle beat Henderson 48-14. 

 

Will Henderson fare better this year than they did last year? Will Boyle have a post rivalry let down? 

Boyle wins again, but closer than last year. The battle at the line of scrimmage might even go Hendo's way. Saadiq Clements is a grown man and they've got a lot of kids back from last year. It's hard to say just how good the Colonels are because they've only played two games against teams with a combined record of 1-5. We'll definitely know more after this week.

I agree with everything you say. The Rebels have Tommy Zeismer who I am sure the Colonels will know quite well after the game. I think the improving Rebels and the long bus ride will be too much for HC. Boyle wins 42-7.

I have no knowledge on Henderson County. I haven’t seen them play since last year so things are different. With that said, I’d say it’s hard to vote against Boyle County. The offense can get you in so many areas with the addition of Quisenberry. Bodner is tough as nails. Dawson, whom is already nailing it, will only continue to get better. And as always Boyle County prides themselves on defense. I just don’t see Henderson County winning this one. Good luck to both teams and safe travels for the fans coming down from Henderson County. 

I think Hendo surprises some people and keeps it close for two and a half quarters and then BC pulls away and wins by 3 scores 41-20.

I believe Henderson is better than last year, but Boyle hasn't taken their foot off of the gas from last year.  Boyle 42-14

You said every word I was about to say. Boyle by that score and it probably isn’t as close as the score indicates.

I thought last years game was a little closer than the score seemed to indicate.  But this year's Henderson Co. team seems to be pretty run heavy, which I think will make it tougher for them.  Boyle by 3 or 4 TD's.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking. Traditionally, teams that are run heavy are very successful against Boyle County. Every now and then a team finds some success. It’s the teams that are well balanced that give the defense fits. Either way, Henderson is a really good team 6A team. I’m sure Coach Haddix and company are looking forward to the challenge.

After watching what they did to Danville, I think you'd have to have an enormous size advantage in the trenches, extremely fast skill players, AND a coaching staff that can adapt to Boyle's creativity. I can't imagine Henderson having all three of those.
