  1. If you do not recruit at a private school the doors will close. Recruitment is part of the business for them.
  2. How many instances in the past did the transfer rule work out best for the student? How many instances did a kid not reach his potential at his first school? Obviously, one will be easier to quantify than the other, but there are many instances of each. From my limited amount of data, parents who want to make the transfer work have always made it work for the most part. Moving, legal separation, bullying claims, and a number of other ways that have been used to get it done. On the flip side, how many times have you seen a freshman thrown in a game to get the varsity "experience" just to make the transfer more difficult. The idea of a high school athlete transferring locally has always been messy, it will always be messy. This rule will just let everyone in on the mess. Will it be pretty? No. Will work out for the best for some kids? yes. Will it be a problem for others? yes. At the very minimum all transfers will be handled out in the open for a change and everyone will have an idea about how and why. If you want to use the word messy, use it. But it has always been messy.
  3. Interesting that the article states that Carmony re-established them after a couple of tough years. Those couple of tough years included a 9 win season and an 8 win season with a some close games against the "powers of 6A football." What is the AD alluding to in regards to the previous years under Dr. Lucas? I did not see those years as any more of under achieving than the previous 6 under Carmony. Especially when you look at the fact that Lucas coached teams played in the Super District. Carmony 38-25 Lucas 45-26
  4. Goat? He isn’t the best coach to ever coach at his current school.
  5. My two cents for what it is worth. I watched the game on NFHS, I went back and watched a few more to see if I could figure it out. I am aware of the amount of talent they have and have had. One thing that jumps out at me almost immediately is the amount of pageantry surrounding them. Did I read that ran through a banner in a scrimmage? The social media that you guys mention in previous posts. Those things do not lose football games or win them. They do fuel fires that may burn in opponents. Those are little things. They add up. Watching things from the NFHS broadcast I noticed some things. One there seems to be a lot of kids walking on and off the field. Program type stuff. Next I would point out that there is a level of physicality that is lacking. Program type stuff. Schemes seem very basic. Not a lot of things that would be difficult to prepare for. This iwould not be a problem if you are truly more athletic than everyone else, but when you play teams that are battled tested as well as having athletes too and you run basic stuff, just hoping to have better kids it does not always work out. Especially against a well coached teams. Here is the last part. When you make posters about owning the city and shutting out this poor team or that poor team then you line up and get smoked when the whole state is watching, you need to reevaluate your priorities. Are you more interested in talking to college coaches and telling everyone about it or hoisting trophies. It seems to be hard for them to do both.
  6. Inevitably a JCPS team will lose a key member of their team at a crucial time in the season.
  7. I think they had 8 holding calls. That would mean there were 23 negative plays plus 8 holding calls. If that was the case then how did they lose?
  8. Do you think that FD will count this as another shutout on their digital posters
  9. If Wallace cannot get this one tonight he starts to question what he is actually accomplishing. Just a thought............
  10. HOLD THE LINE COACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Did X play Jrs on the JV or did T? I would think that these programs want to win this game. Minus playing a starter it would be all hands on deck. I would think, for the sake of attrition you play Jrs in JV that you hope to contribute somewhere down the line on Fridays. It would be hard for me to look at kids that are on the fringe and not play them because they are a JR. Isn't there am 8 quarter rule in KY?
  12. That is a brutal way to open the season.
  13. I think I read earlier in a post that they graduated 20 of 22 starters and a bunch of reserves. That would make this an entire new group. Am I correct? For the state of Kentucky we all should hope T gets back on track. It make a take a season but I believe they will. As someone said Tradition never graduates, but experience does.
  14. The things that Johnson Central will go through to keep from playing an upper echelon in state team.?
  15. Curious; why did he leave Bryan Station? Was he not making a difference in kids lives there? Was there turmoil there? For a coach to be let go once a season starts there has to be more to the story. Being controlled and asking to change things for the good of the team are not the same things. NFL, college, or Hall of Famer doesn't mean anything when trying to get young kids to execute a game plan.
  16. Ran through a banner? Seriously? I expect FD to be similar to years past, hyped. The only difference this year is they don't have possible NFL roster guys on the OL. They just never seem to get over the hump. X will be as good as anyone up front. They should dominate the line of scrimmage. I am looking forward to this scrimmage. This game will give you a good idea on what can be a potential weakness for each team. Can FD control the line of scrimmage? Can X match up athletically with big time skill? Should have a good idea of both teams after tonight.
  17. You know the X crowd thinks they have a shot when they are posting about the rivalry in July!
  18. From a pure talent perspective no one in 5a has had more talent then FD. Best player? Maybe not. Most talented team, not close.
  19. I am sure that Wyman always worked for who ever was calling the shots and did the best with what he had. That leads me to this........... How would you define the role of a county wide AD? DId Wyman do a good job under that defined role? Is JCPS athletics in a good spot? Or is it possible that he did the best job possible given the circumstances?
  20. Lol. Just another reminder how NKY football is overrated.
  21. Can you explain the system that Manual "gets" kids out of? Manual is in the same system as Butler and MALE! Male has had plenty of success in THAT system. The difference is that Male never runs from the elite programs. Manual does everything they can to not play them. I guess you can say that LaSalle was elite but that does nothing to see how you compare in KY. Male earned their titles and title games in that system. Manual has not. I hope they earn their chance this year. IF you beat X and NH you deserve the chance to play in the Championship if it works out that way. Then they can not run from anyone.
