I see this as a competitive disadvantage for JCPS vs schools that don't test. Imagine Male in semifinals or championship and then lose some players due to false positives or no symptoms positive.

I agree.

JCPS is a dumpster fire. I feel sorry for these kids. A lot of them already have the deck staked against them then they have to deal with this crap. Meanwhile the private schools are hiring more people to answer the enrollment hotline lol.

This.

Get your kids out of JCPS and if you are the parent of an 8th grader or below make other plans for your children.

More info in this link on program. Will be weekly testing.

I know I said this already, but one of the most troubling things through all of this to me has been the testing of perfectly healthy people. Given what we know about false positives, etc, especially in rapid testing situations, I really struggle with it.

I'm not familiar with this. So is the school paying for the testing or do parents?

JCPS paying for it. No way a lot of JCPS parents could afford to pay.

Are they testing all players, regardless of vaccination?

All JCPS students that wish to participate in athletics or any extracurricular school group (clubs, etc.).  And it's every week.  The logistical hurdles alone are a nightmare.

What is the purpose of the test?

From where I sit to get involved in others business, make things hard on children, and generally be a nuisance because that is all they are capable of.

Ok. Let me rephrase. What reasons does JCPS give for requiring the test?
