  1. Is there any difference between someone looking the maturity of their middle school child and holding them back versus a high school senior or junior playing an additional year due to change in rules due to covid?
  2. I am sure that conversation is still being had around many dinner tables in Ft Thomas.
  3. I am pretty sure there was a post on here recently that was multiple pages long talking about how much daddy ball was being played at Highlands.
  4. Raceland plays a good brand of football. Physical and well coached. I'll take Raceland in this game 7 out 10 times. Based on the posters on this board it seems like Highlands has some bad mojo around the team. 35-24, Raceland.
  5. This sounds like some good insider info...….can you elaborate on the details of his explicitly?
  6. I watched the Moeller game. T was completely out classed in talent. Then I read this thread with my coffee this morning and was curious if any Beatty led teams have struggled offensively, I went back as far as 2013. They only scored a combined 21 pts against Male that year. Got smoked by Moeller 14-42. The next year they scored 14 against Manual, Moeller, and 7 against Carmel. There are other games in those years where there are less than stellar performances. Maybe offensive talent is the issue. Or over all talent. What if, and this is if, that Beatty timed his retirement just right. Lack of senior class overall talent in back to back years combined with a brutal schedule was his green light to get out. The next question is who to blame for the lack of talent? Did Beatty realize he was out and did not work at making sure that kids new they were wanted at T? Did X come in and out work them with the public school kids?
  7. Watched the stream of the St. X game and I do not see it. Are they athletic? Yes. Dominating? absolutely not.
  8. I have a feeling that it will become trendy to pick against a post Bob Beatty Trinity.
  9. Good thing, because there is a long way to go!
  10. Only school up there that plays any ball. But still a big fish in a small pond. That fish competes in AA.
  11. Too bad they don't give out trophies for hype. The "farm" would be over flowing.
  12. Here are the stats as accurately as I can get them without spending an entire afternoon's worth of research. Belfry 8X State Champ, JC 2x State Champ. 5 or 6 other trips to the finals. Pikeville 6 total Championships. 3 in the last few seasons. Paintsville 1 Championship. Hazard at least 1 Championship. Breathitt County 3 Championships. Ashland 1 recent championship but I am almost certain there has been more. I am counting 7 schools who are in the heart of EKY that have at least one State Championships recently. Also depending on how interpret a map you could add Corbin, Somerset, and Middlesboro in that group as well.
  13. I am not hater. To be hater there has to be something to be jealous of. Beechwood has a nice program. NCC had a run. Highlands has a hired a guy with a track record to get them to where they where, hopefully. Other than that...…..
  14. I'm did not cherry pick the span of time, its just the amount of time that I have been old enough to keep an eye on things. I get this is "water cooler talk.'' It's also time for someone to call out NKY football for what it is; which is under achieving as a whole in comparison to the rest of the state. Good schools, good facilities, poor football. I compare it to the thread of FD being fools gold, NKY football as a whole is fools gold. I'll add NCC to the list of achievers as well. They did win a couple of titles. In my previous post I called the region sub par, that was an overlook in editing. I meant that the caliber of football is sub par. I think the geographical location and landscape is very nice. My apologizes to the people of the area.
  15. Am I out of line or is NKY football always overrated? I know this is regional poll but you guys get on here and an argue about who is the best of a sub par geographical region with one of the highest populations of the entire state. Year after year I see this thread, top ten in NKY. Outside of Beechwood and Cov Cath none these teams are ever a factor in their class. Name a team not Cov Cath or Beechwood from NKY that has done anything significant in the last 20 years.
  16. Can anything that he said in interviews after and since be used to disqualify any of his arguments in the filing? "The odds were against me after 36 years." This statement seems to say that he knew there was an assumed risk by standing on the sideline. I almost compare this to a weather man getting hit by a limb during a hurricane and suing the city that got hit by the hurricane.
  17. Based on the reaction of the general public in this forum and on social media, I would avoid a jury trial at all costs. He seems to not have a ton of support.
  18. If you go back to his interview with the CJ after it happened, he talks about how many of those he has avoided in the past. Something to the effect, "that the odds were against him after 36 years."
  19. I have thoughts on this but more as it relates to the state as a whole. Haddix does a really good job from afar. I say "afar" because I am not local to Boyle Co. There are a lot more really good coaches in the state of Kentucky than there are really good jobs. A lot of the really good jobs depend on two very important things. Local talent and school support. The school support is probably mas important than talent. When you line those up with a really good coach you get the results that only a few schools in the state have been able to produce. What will it take for Haddix to leave is a question that can be answered in terms of access to talent and school support. How many places really have it better than Boyle? If you want to move up in class you can say the privates (X and T) maybe Male but JCPS is probably not the most desirable place to work. If you go the private route you have to consider he would be leaving the KTRS system. If you go down in class there is few more jobs that look appealing.
  20. Is Douglas on a run of talent that has been the best in the state in the last 20 years? I can't recall more high caliber D1 kids at the same school in recent memory.
  21. You should always look for a student that can bring the most value to your school. Private, public, charter. Building a culture is the most important aspect of making a school successful.
