  1. FullSizeRender.MOV Graves Mayfield 17 FullSizeRender.MOV PT Mayfield 22 (tonight)
  2. It’s insane what you’re describing. This same scenario happened to our guys a couple of years back. I’ll see if I can’t find video.
  3. I saw in the other forum that they ruled a ball a fumble and then after moving the chains they came back and overruled the play 2 minutes later? If that’s accurate I promise you it is not the first time that has happened at war memorial. The same exact thing happened to us I believe in 17. Our center had his hand on the ball and they overruled the fumble as both teams were lined up for the next play. Morris is the goat and part of that is because the refs are absolutely terrified of him. Not taking anything away from him. He truly is the best maybe in the state, but it’s also beneficial to always have the refs intimidated.
  4. Seen the same story many times guys. Glad more got to witness it tonight.
  5. Graves played with PT. Missed a FG and got stopped on the 1 yard line before half. Could have easily been 17-7 GC at the half. The clock was running for the Mustangs in the first half versus PT. Based on that alone, I fully expect the Eagles to win.
  6. I also feel like this game has huge implications on Mayfield in the playoffs. Some might say it is too early, but I don't see another team on their schedule who will give them a game. They win this one, then they could be playing at home in the final four. If they lose it could be back to Beechwood or to Lexington. Huge for them.
  7. I am torn on attending this game or going and watching Graves at McCracken. I have seen both teams play and they are very similar. With that being said Paducah looks better, but Mayfield plays better. There is a ton of pressure on this PT class, but I think its unfair to ignore the pressure on the Mayfield kids. These kids have lost to PT in middle school and know the streak is on the line. If Paducah is able to run it with #7, they win. I don't believe they will be able to though and will depend way too much on the pass game, therefore I give the edge to Mayfield 28-14.
  8. Go back and read, “had Graves produced any offense.” Not sure why you’re always so abrasive Snake. good luck to you guys this week.
  9. Yes, it’s simple math. …and that’s credit to Mayfield D
  10. For those who attended Mayfield/Graves game, had Graves produced any offense at all I would imagine the score of that game would have been similar to this one. Our Eagles are young, I believe they start 8 sophomores on offense, talented, but young. Keep improving is the name of the game this year and be ready for playoffs. They really need to pick up a win next week against Mccracken.
  11. I have attended every Mayfield-Graves game and almost every Paducah - McCracken game. I also regularly attend the Paducah - Mayfield game. While you are correct there is not a substitute for such a historic rivalry, the energy of the more local games are just on another level. I think this is due to the fact of open enrollment and how one programs success can hinder the other’s program. I'm taking Paducah in this one. I think they are about to go on a run for the next couple of years.
  12. Not calling you out personally Devil, I agree my Eagles lost a ton of production that can’t be ignored, but the disrespect given to linebacker Jack Cope this offseason for the Eagles is ridiculous. I don’t know the statistics, but I would say it is safe to say he has lead the team in tackles the last two years and got some more his freshman year. Zero mention of his name anywhere it seems.
  13. This ^ and if LCA and Beechwood beat up on each other and believe they are playing for a title when in reality it’s semifinals, then Mayfield will be lurking to steal one.
  14. Feel this is slightly unfair to Murray’s coach. They might be the only team to be 2-1 against Mayfield in the previous three meetings.
  15. Good for Coach Frick. Hate to lose him. Logan County got a good one!
  16. I don’t think it’s his call. They gotta get permission from parents probably. That has always been the problem with Graves. Parents know they can run the ship if they’re loud enough and complain enough. No offense to Holder. Not many guys can win at Ballard and its not fair to judge him as a coach by coaching there, but if an unproven Coach like him gets the job, then the program is officially dead, which is really sad, Because Graves owned the 90s in region one and then had multiple runs from 2000-2015. A hire from within would be better imo. No experience is better than bad experience. everybody apparently wants our current staff, except us.
  17. No news is probably good news for Mayfield.
  18. In terms of football in far West Ky Mayfield - Graves is a special game. Mayfield has been dominant over the last decade in this series, like they have in every series the past 10 years, but the game is still just as special. Almost 1/4 of the entire county is at the game. Moving it to first game of the year makes it that much more special. McCracken and Paducah play theres on Saturday on week 1 and I wish we’d play a different day too to get even more people to the game. There have been many years where people were turned away at the gate. Marshall and Graves is also a good one, deemed the pumpkin bowl. (Is always played last Friday of October) There use to be a traveling pumpkin trophy for that game. Not sure what has happened to it. Graves has dominated this one over the last decade, but always draws one of the bigger crowds. People sleep on the Murray-Calloway game at Murray State. I have only been able to attend it once, but it is a very fun atmosphere and brings out a large crowd.
  19. From what I was told today, Mayfield has made a sweet offer in terms of money for Coach Morris. I fully expect him to be back on the sideline next year.
  20. You are highly underestimating the number of students we are losing. Local news station did a story a few years ago that Graves is losing about 10-15 kids a year. People are just moving off because there is zero industry left on Mayfield/Graves County area. Sadly I only see it getting worse for the people around here.
  21. If there is a school that is geographically isolated its Graves County. Our closest District Game is an hour and 45 minutes away. Our next closest is over 2 hours. Our farthest is 2 hours and 40 minutes. Our enrollment has been steadily dropping and with the impact of the tornado, I could see us sliding to 4A possibly sometime soon. For reference, our farthest 4A District game would be only an hour 45 minutes away.
  22. Mayfield running the wing-t? Yeah that isn't happening. I think Rogers is a good coach, but I could never see that happening. I just don't see that as a good fit for both parties. Pretty crazy that staff Joe has assembled. Dew, Hatchell, Rogers. Basically 4 head coaches on staff.
